Meditations for Inner & Global Peace Gandelman
Thursdays, Oct. 26 – Dec. 7 (except Nov. 23) & Dec. 15, 12-12:30pm. If you’ve been feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed by recent events occurring in your life or around the world, you are not alone. 

Join world-renowned author and meditation teacher, David Gandelman, for a series of virtual 30-minute talks, reflections, and guided meditations for Cornellians. 

With a love for Cornell and local roots, David will come to Cornell to conclude the series in a special hybrid event on December 15 at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Lecture Hall #5.

Coping in Response to Tragedy (Weill Cornell Medicine)
This guide for families provides scientifically grounded advice on how to process tragedy with children.

"Love Your Asian Body: AIDS Activism in Los Angeles": Book Talk with Eric Wat  
Oct. 24, 4:30pm. Love Your Asian Body is a visual storytelling of the AIDS movement in the Asian American community. The stories of these activists once again find resonance in our struggles today.

Blackness as a Universal Claim: Holocaust Heritage, Noncitizen Futures, and Black Power in Berlin 
Nov. 2, 5pm, A.D. White House, Guerlac Room. This interdisciplinary lecture by Damani J. Partridge will discuss how the concept of Blackness energizes, inspires, and makes democratic participation possible beyond prevailing precepts of national belonging.

November Break and Learn: The Value of Veterans in the Workplace
Nov. 9 at 8:45am or Nov. 16, 12:15pm. In this panel discussion with Cornell employees who are veterans, explore the stigmas that veterans face when it comes to employment, the many benefits of hiring veterans, as well as best practices for creating a veteran-friendly and supportive workplace.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month
Explore resources to help improve employment outcomes and access/inclusion in our workplace environment for employees with disabilities.

Nomination Period Open: George Peter Award for Dedicated Service 
This award is given annually by the Employee Assembly to staff who consistently demonstrate excellence in the performance of their duties. Nomination deadline is Nov. 10.

Cornell's A Seat At The Table along with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Finger Lakes is hosting a first annual Dessert Gala!  Enjoy tasty desserts and learn more about their programming and how to get involved.  The event is free and it is not a fundraiser so there will be no solicitation for donations.
