The highly anticipated "And the Women Gather" Literary Event is set to return for its annual celebration of literature, music, and camaraderie on April 26-27, 2024, in DeLand, Florida. Hosted by Desert Sage Lifestyle Wellness, this event promises a weekend of enriching experiences and soulful connections.

The event starts with a Welcome Reception on Friday evening, hosted by Desert Sage Lifestyle Wellness in the charming Artisan Alley. Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle and connect in a relaxed atmosphere.

The main event takes place on Saturday at the historic Athens Theater in downtown DeLand. Attendees can look forward to a packed schedule featuring live jazz with SHINE AND THE SHAKERS, a captivating performance by Carol Swarbrick Dries, and engaging author talks with esteemed writers. A gourmet box lunch prepared by De La Vega Restaurant will be provided, ensuring a delightful culinary experience for all.

On Sunday May 5, the Lakeland Choral Society will present Vivaldi’s masterwork, Gloria, as part of their annual Spring Concert. The concert will be held at three o’clock at the City Central Church on Frank Lloyd Wright Way in Lakeland. Now, in their fifty-seventh year, the Lakeland Choral Society performs great works of classical and contemporary choral music to raise money for music scholarships for Polk County students who are enrolled in or who are planning to enroll in a vocal music college program.&nbsp;

Register now for SPCA Florida’s Run for Their Lives 5K on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at the beautiful Peterson Park 3700 Cleveland Heights Blvd, Lakeland, FL. Runners will not only enjoy a chip timed 5K race but will be saving lives with every step they take. Complimentary continental breakfast will be provided. Award ceremony will be conducted after the race.
Course will run most of the 3 Parks Trail.
Registrants receive a race bib, choice of a race short sleeve T-shirt or race tank top (Guaranteed if pre-registered before May 10th, 2024 Register Soon!) All finishers will receive a exclusive race medal after crossing the finish line.
