EKYL: A couple’s fruitful work ethic impacts several lives

CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT) - Entrepreneur Terry Forcht has built more than 80 businesses through his career.

Those businesses include public broadcasting, healthcare and financial services.

With the help of his wife, Marion, they have been able to make a difference in the community through all of it.

“We both believe in hard work. We don’t believe you get something for nothing in life,” said Marion Forcht.

The Forchts employ more than 2,000 people in those several businesses. The couple brings their employees along in the journey.

“If you can, cut everybody into what you’re doing and let them be a part of it and pay them well,” said Terry Forcht.

Along that journey, the couple has created a strong foundation in faith.

“We have lived most of our life on the theory that we had our plan and then God has his plan and if you ever realize that your plan isn’t his then forget yours because its going to be his or its not going to work and so just forget it,” said Marion Forcht.

The Forchts said they want to share their legacy for years to come.

Terry and Marion Forcht are the winners of the 2024 East Kentucky Leadership Award for Private Individual.
