COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — During March, Columbus State University is accepting free applications.

The University is working with GA Match, a program launched by the governor’s office and the Georgia Student Finance Commision to help make high school students aware of their college options.

This opportunity is open to everyone including incoming freshman, master program applicants, and people in the military and saves students and their families forty dollars.

WRBL got the chance to speak with the Director of Recruitment, Kristin Williams about the decision-making process.

Williams says, “For students who may be transferring in some credits for graduate students. It’s going to take just a little bit longer, but we would like to say we’d like to turn out a decision for undergraduate students with in 24-48 hours, but if you have everything with you right then we like to give you that admission decision on the spot.

She also encourages students who are still unsure of what they want to study to apply.

Williams told WRBL, “Columbus State has issued a new degree program called Interdisciplinary Studies, and it’s where we can take various components of various degree programs to make one centralized degree.”

The Free Application initiative allows students to see the in-state opportunities that are offered to them. Williams told WRBL that the university is seeing numerous new applications every day, including applications from students who are still unsure of their financial contributions due to the complication with the FASA.

Williams encourages all interested to apply and attend the Accepted Student Celebration in April.
