NKU leaders hit the road for College Decision Day
SEE, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF. SO BEFORE WE GET, CAN YOU AND CAN YOU KEVIN STANDING HERE. BUT TODAY IS COLLEGE DECISION DAY AND NKU HIT THE ROAD WITH A BUS FULL OF VIPS. YEAH. SO THIS WAS ALL IN EFFORT HERE TO CELEBRATE THE KIDS WHO’VE ALREADY DECIDED AND TO ENCOURAGE MORE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADS TO CONSIDER BECOMING A NURSE. THIS FALL. THEY’RE HERE. IF YOU. AND WE ARE JUST THRILLED TO BE HERE WITH THE UNIVERSITY’S INTERIM PRESIDENT, BONITA BROWN, VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS AND OTHER NKU ALUM HERE, HITTING THE ROAD TODAY. THEY HOPPED ON A SCHOOL BUS STOPPING AT CAMPBELL COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL. SIMON KENTON HIGH SCHOOL AND RYLE TO GET THEM PUMPED UP ABOUT ENROLLING AND COMMITTING TO NKU FOR COLLEGE. THEY ALSO SPENT SOME TIME WITH MORE THAN 150 STUDENTS WHO HAVE ALREADY COMMITTED TO STARTING THEIR FRESHMAN YEAR AT NKU THIS FALL. AND I TELL YOU, IT WAS REALLY FUN. IF YOU COULD HEAR SOME OF THE SOUND THERE, THEY WERE SAYING, LOOK, MANY OF THE ADMINISTRATORS SAYING WE JUST WE HAVE SUCH A GREAT UNIVERSITY. WE WANT MORE KIDS TO CONSIDER IT. I THINK IT’S ONE OF THOSE SCHOOLS THAT SITS IN THE SHADOW OF YOU SEE OHIO STATE, MIAMI,

NKU leaders hit the road for College Decision Day
Monday was College Decision Day and Northern Kentucky University hit the road with a bus full of VIPs.It was all an effort to encourage more local high school graduates to consider becoming a Norse this fall.The university's interim president Bonita Brown, vice president of student affairs Eddie Howard, and other NKU alums hit the road today.The group stopped at Campbell County High School, Simon Kenton High School and Ryle High School to get them pumped up about enrolling in college.They also spent time with more than 150 students who have already committed to starting their freshman year at NKU in the fall."Some students say they didn't know they were going to be able to go to college. When they got accepted to NKU, they were thrilled," said Brown. "Other students said, 'this has been a dream forever', and they were glad they got accepted. I spoke to one young lady who said she was on the fence so, you know, she was going to go to Gateway or NKU, but seeing us and hearing the current students sealed the deal for her."School leaders said it's important for them to recognize students who stay local and that when they spend their college careers at NKU, they join a legacy of graduates who are community and business leaders in the area.
