Former Georgia Southern standout Steven Fisk enters weekend tied for first (-9), Ben Carr & Mason Williams tied for 26th

Georgia Southern University is proudly representing at the 2024 Club Car Championship.Three former Georgia Southern Eagles are playing in the Club Car Championship this week Steven Fisk (-9) holds a share of the lead after firing a 65 in the second round. Mason Williams and Ben Carr are heading into the weekend tied for 26th.Carr, who got a sponsor's exemption, and Mason Williams, who had to qualify on Monday, are both thankful for their time in Statesboro."We've had a lot of guys come through there that can really play," Carr said. " I think it's shown in the last two days. Three Eagles in the field all playing well, says a lot about Coach Collins, and now he develops the players in the program. I mean, we've got a bunch of guys playing professional golf right now and that says a lot about who he is as a golf coach.""It's a proud moment for our program and Georgia Southern in general," said Georgia Southern head golf Coach Carter Collins. "It's goosebumps looking at the leaderboard and tapping them as favorites and tracking them on the leaderboard and coming out here today. Definitely some goosebumps as they realize their dreams which is what this is really all about."Both Carr and Williams have been close friends since their freshman year in Statesboro. "Five years in college, we lived together. Obviously, played all the tournaments together. Traveling together in the summer to tournaments, so, yeah, we're very close. So, hopefully we get paired together," Carr said. "Never really played together in any sort of event because in college you are always playing with other teams, but to play in the same event would be pretty special, it would be great," Williams said.The third round of the Club Car Championship tees off at 8:05 a.m. Saturday morning.
