Overview

WHO’s Scientific Brief on Neurology and COVID-19 highlights the relationship between neurology and COVID-19. Neurological manifestations have been recognized as an important component of COVID-19, even in cases without respiratory symptoms. This scientific brief provides a comprehensive overview of what is currently known about the acute neurological manifestations of COVID-19; the neurological sequelae associated with post-COVID-19 condition; the risk of infection, severe illness and mortality from COVID-19 for people with pre-existing neurological conditions; the extent of disruptions to neurological services caused by the pandemic and mitigation strategies to address these disruptions; and emerging evidence for neurological complications following COVID-19 vaccination.
