Watford is a town built on its community and we want to recognise some of those who have made the town what it is today. 

 

We have a few ideas but would love to hear from you who you would like to see on the list. To make your nomination, complete the form here. We will be featuring two nominations each month.

SHARING A 100TH BIRTHDAY IN 2022

Anyone who lives, was born or has Watford connections and shares a 100th birthday in 2022, can receive one of our commemorative centenary medals.


If you, or someone you know, is reaching this important milestone in 2022, please let us know.

WHAT WATFORD MEANS TO ME 
WRITE IT

Anyone feeling inspired to put pen to paper (or fingers to the keyboard) to write a short piece on their experience of Watford can be part of our ‘What Watford means to me’ writing competition.


Your entry can be fiction of factual and up to 3,000 words. For more information email:  centenary@watford.gov.uk

Anyone nominated for an outstanding contribution to Watford in 2022 will receive one of our commemorative centenary medals. The initiative will celebrate the positive contributions made by people and organisations in the borough.

We will be arranging an exhibition of the images we receive at Watford Museum in the December 2022.

WHAT WATFORD MEANS TO ME
FILM IT 

Watford is a town that has fantastic links to the film and television industries. 

 

We would love to see your films featuring Watford – and these could be new or old – to show as part of an exhibition at Watford Museum in December 2022. Films need to be high definition MP4 file in the following dimensions: (1920px:1080px).
