Additional Information About Work Schedule
We are committed to providing our inters with a positive learning experience. We believe that while internships are an intense process which requires dedication and a strong work ethic, the completion of an internship should not come at the cost of physical or emotional health. We abide by the AAVMC's recommendations to ensure that our interns are given appropriate days off during each rotation. Our interns are only assigned ER duty when they are on an ER rotation. During the ER rotation, interns will be scheduled as a swing doctor and will always be working with another senior ER doctor. When on ER, interns are scheduled to work no more than 3 days in a row, will have one designated on call day during the week and are guaranteed to be off 2 days. When on a specialty service, interns work M-F and will be on call 2 weekends during the 4 week block.
