Medical Chaperones Policy

Vanderbilt University Medical Center recognizes that patients may want additional support during their sensitive medical examinations and procedures. For this reason, we offer a medical chaperone - a person who serves as a support for both the patient and their provider--for your sensitive medical exams and procedures. All our chaperones are clinical staff members with specialty training for the role. They know exactly how to support you and your provider during these types of exams and procedures.

Policy:

• For all sensitive exams and procedures, we provide a chaperone. 
• For all other exams and procedures, we provide a chaperone if you or your child, for patients 17 or younger, ask.
