Buffalo River Watershed Enhancement Project

The Buffalo River Watershed Enhancement Project, a Regional Conservation Partnership Project (RCPP) project, seeks to collaborate with private landowners to reduce erosion on their land and enhance water quality in the Buffalo River.

As part of the enhancement project, landowners and ag producers in the Buffalo River Watershed are eligible to receive conservation assistance funding to implement conservation practices to help maintain and improve water quality!

Newton and Searcy County in Arkansas highlighted on map to show the watershed area for the enhancement project

Additionally, watershed landowners are eligible for assistance from the project partners aimed at:

  • eradicating feral hog populations
  • preventing erosion
  • managing pastures and unpaved roads in the area

Who's eligible?

Agricultural producers in the Buffalo River watershed in Baxter, Boone, Madison, Marion, Newton, Pope, Searcy, Stone, and Van Buren counties are eligible for this program.

Although all producers in the Buffalo River watershed are eligible, applications from the sub watersheds of Bear, Big, Brush, Calf, and Tomahawk creeks will be prioritized.
