Comparative Histories of Moviegoing

This special issue on the comparative history of moviegoing, edited by Jessica Whitehead and Thunnis van Oort, encompasses a broad array of themes, places, and approaches ranging from a classical systematic comparison between various localities focused on clearly defined units of comparison to more intuitive and loosely defined objects of analysis using a comparative sensibility, and, moreover, also welcomes critical reflections on comparative methodology.
