Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD Sutherland School of Law on an ERC-funded project at the Centre for Constitutional Studies in University College Dublin.

The project investigates the political, psychological and cognitive factors that contribute to the emergence of populism and the weakening of traditional authority structures within six case studies. The overall goal of the project is to identify the factors that shape these processes; and potential responses to them.

This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

In addition to the Principal Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will also carry out the following duties specific to this project:

  • Contributing to the design of a work programme involving experiments in cognitive and political psychology across a number of different countries.
  • Contributing to the organisation and carrying out of such experiments, including obtaining ethical approval and the recruitment of participants.
  • Contributing to the dissemination of the results by way of conference presentations and written publications.

PD1 Salary Scale: €39,522 - €45,610 per annum

PD 2 Salary Scale: €46,906 - €51,035 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
