Not to go all Glenn Beck on yo ass, but the story about the Department of Education’s order for 27 Remington tactical shotguns (nice piece, but I’d also consider the Benelli M4) got me thinking: who else in our federal government is tooled-up for action? Here’s a list of Uncle Sam’s police from Wikipedia, with links for your dining and dancing (DANCE I TELL YOU! DANCE!) pleasure. Oh, and don’t worry too much about that overdue book: the Library of Congress Police ceased operations in October of 2009, absorbed by the Capitol Police.

  2. As of today you can go ahead and add the USDA as well; they just ordered submachine guns and body armor.

  3. I think since i have to take a urine test for the Feds or Obama seems like I work for the Feds I want to know where is my badge and all or some of the weapons that were listed I’m waiting for mine to get here so if anyone knows Obama let him know I’m still waiting for them so I need to know where I need to go to get my greedy hands on them

    • All you need is speak spanish, arabic Islame-ic extremest etc claim illegal status and walla you got benefits, money and a job that was just pulled from under the feet of a Real American.

  4. There are a lot more than this and a lot of different weapons systems.
Lmg’s to smgs rocket launchers to Ma deuce’s to mraps
To m113’s you name they have it and we bought it.

  5. I was in Army CID as a Special Agent, 95D, later 31D, ASI H3, ASI D7. We first had S&W Model 10, .38 Special w/2 IN Barrel, Round Butt w/m41 130 Grain FMJ Rounds from 1988 until 1995. If you were assigned to Protective Service Unit, you were issued Treasury 110 Grain Jacketed HP ++P. Long Arms were MP5A3 and MP5K-PDW with 124 Grain Ball and Remington 870 12 with folding stock and 18 IN Barrel with 00 Buck. One time I had an MP5SD that came on loan from another agency for training only. Overseas, Dept. of State might issue the closed bolt Mini Uzi in some situations to PSU assigned personnel. However, that was 20 plus years ago. Later we had Sig Sauer 228/M11 with Trijcon Night SIghts with 124 Grain Ball M882 Rounds. For “Muddy Boots” Missions we first had M16A1, and the M16A2 like any other soldier. Today they have M4’s with about 1/2 with M320 Grenade Launchers for “Muddy Boots” missions. Special assignment personnel were alleged to have Beretta .25 Autos. Some personnel are alleged to have been issued Ruger 9mm pistols down range in the 2000’s since there was a shortage of M11 Pistols. Today the M11 is being replaced by the XM18 Sig 320 Compact. Ball ammo is still the order of the day for most units. I have no way of knowing what the Protective Service Battalion issues these days. Generally CID qualifies with pistol quarterly, and at least one night fire with pistol per year. MP5 was every six months along with M870 shotgun. M16 and M4 were every year to include fire for qualification score, night fire and NBC mask fire.
