KING — Stokes County Schools’ 2021 Principal of the Year Dr. Sam Jones looked fairly uncomfortable being praised on Tuesday at the close of a day-long workshop for system directors and principals. At least until his family showed up.

Jones, who became principal at West Stokes High School just a few weeks ago, was honored for his work at Poplar Springs Elementary School. (At West, Jones is replacing the 2020 Principal of the Year, Kevin Spainhour.)
