On February 13, 2023, the Iowa Department of Health and Human
Services (HHS) announced plans to request proposals for the delivery of dental
care services for Iowans. HHS intends to procure contracts with the most
qualified pre-paid ambulatory health plans (PAHP) that can demonstrate capacity
to coordinate care and provide quality outcomes for the Medicaid and Children’s
Health Insurance Program (CHIP) populations.
This process is intended to procure those most qualified to
deliver high-quality dental health care services. It will also aid in the
state’s ability to determine the appropriate number of dental plans to administer
both the Iowa Dental Wellness Plan and Hawki programs.
This meeting is designed to answer questions from dental plans
and providers, as well as stakeholders. The goal of the session is to receive
feedback on the current dental program and dental contracts that should be
considered as we develop the RFP. While Iowa Medicaid will be taking questions,
due to the confidentiality around the RFP process, the team will not be able to
answer.
You will receive a Zoom link to the meeting the
day it takes place.
