Spookley, who is teased for being the only square pumpkin on Holiday Hill Farm, doesn’t believe a square pumpkin could ever win ‘Pick of the Patch’. But when a storm hits, he is the only one who can save the day! With the help of his friends, Spookley learns that what makes him different is what makes him special.

The performance of SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN is approximately 60 minutes with no intermission.

PRESHOW: Doors to the theatre open 30 minutes before the show. No food or drink are allowed in the theatre.

This production will be GENERAL ADMISSION. A portion of the seating is floor seating. Arrive early for the MOST seating options.

FLOOR SEATING: A portion of the seating is floor seating. In order to allow your excited little ones to get up close to the performance, we have approx. 35 seats on the floor. Adults and children can sit on the floor or on chairs.

ABOUT JOE TROIANO
JOE TROIANO (AUTHOR) Joe Troiano is the award-winning author of more than ten children's books including: The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin; The Legend of Mistletoe and the Christmas Kittens; The Legend of Jellybean and the Unbreakable Egg; The Legend of Lyla the Lovesick Ladybug; The Legend of Beacon the Bright Little Firefly; It's Your Cloud; and TEAM Rudolph and the Reindeer Games. Joe is also an accomplished lyricist, having written songs for film, music recordings, television and stage. His credits include Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Calliou, Arthur, Disney's JoJo Circus and Monster Mash the Movie.

CODY R. BRAUDT (DIRECTOR) - A Minnesota based artist, Cody R. Braudt is a director, writer, and conceiver of live performance and theatrical events for young people and families. With a passion for new work, Braudt has collaborated with artists such as Jon Ferguson, Peter Brosius, Whit MacLaughlin, Mary Lou Rosato, Randy Weiner, Sandy Boren-Barrett, Jeff Zahn, and Tony Award-Winners Diane Paulus and Christine Jones. Previous credits include Theater Forever at The Guthrie Theater, Stages Theatre Company, Mixed Blood Theatre, The Children’s Theatre Company and LaMama Experimental Theatre Club. As a director, his work has been seen at Stages Theatre Company, CREA Theatre Project, The Riley-Jacques Barn, The Depot Coffee House, The CalArts New Works Festival, The Trailer Trash Project, The CalArts Coffeehouse Theater, and Acting for Others in The Shank Black Box Theater at La Jolla Playhouse. Braudt also serves as the Director of Brand Experiences for West Coast Dance Explosion, a national touring dance education convention for aspiring dancers.





JC LIPPOLD (MUSIC DIRECTOR) JC is grateful to walk alongside amazing storytellers at Stages Theatre Company in this production! As music director, JC has worked at Stages Theatre Company since 2011. His favorite shows include Bridge to Terabithia, I Love You, Stinky Face, and Newsies. Theatre challenges us to see things different. May this production invite you to see the capacity in everyone, even a square pumpkin.

JEFFREY ZAHN (COMPOSER) Jeff Zahn is an award-winning music supervisor/composer. In addition to his work on Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Jeff was the music director and composer for the stage productions of Arthur's Lucky Pencil, Cassandra's Angels, Caillou, and Wimzie's House. He has also produced projects for The Backstreet Boys, Wyclef Jean, Ziggy Marley, Art Garfunkel, Yo Yo Ma, The San Francisco Opera, Debra Harry and many others. As a musician, Jeff was an original member of the orchestra for Broadway production of Cats and he has performed with major headliners including Burt Bacharach, Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner, Sammy Davis Jr, Earth, Wind and Fire, Dionne Warwick, and many other artists. Jeff has also supervised and composed the music for over 50 TV series including Arthur,Caillou: Are You Afraid of the Dark, Madeline,Paddington Bear, Richard Scarry, Wombles,Barney and Sesame Street. His film credits includeArthur, Twinkletoes, Frankenstein Sings; and Spookley the Square Pumpkin.
