about gbm

What is Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)?

GBM is the most common primary brain cancer, or cancer that starts in the brain. All GBMs are grade IV brain tumors, meaning they contain the most abnormal looking cells and are the most aggressive.

GBM grows quickly and can invade and destroy healthy tissue – it forms from cells called astrocytes that support nerve cells and can happen at any age. Symptoms include headaches that keep getting worse, nausea and vomiting, blurred or double vision, and seizures.

There is currently no cure for glioblastoma.
