I am thrilled to be inviting our 3rd-6th grade students into our building on February 8th! We have made a few changes to welcome our next group of students into our building. The biggest change is that our 6th Graders will conduct class inside the building instead of outside in the relos. There are many benefits to this move. Students will have better access to hand washing and bathrooms. The air filtration is of a higher standard inside the main building as well. Our 6th graders will be in the music room, library, and art room. Our teachers worked very hard to create an inviting learning space for our students.
During our first week with our K-2 students, we had to close one classroom for face-to-face instruction due to a known exposure to a positive case of covid-19. We are grateful to all involved that we were able to follow our mitigation plan. We were notified in a timely manner by the person and we were able to make contact with our families that were impacted. We are also grateful that we were able to resume class online during the closure. We appreciate our staff, parents, and students for keeping a positive attitude through the experience. For updates on ASD classroom/school closures you can visit this website: ASD Schools Status You will always be notified directly by the school if your child is in a classroom that has been exposed to a positive case of covid-19.
I will be hosting another Principal Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, February 2 at 6:00 PM. Please join me to review our re-entry plan and to ask questions. Please reach out to classroom teachers for specific information about their class sizes, room arrangements, and routines.

3rd and 4th Battle of the Books
I would like to say thank you to this year's third and fourth graders who joined Battle of the Books. They did so much work leading up to our district-wide tournament this week! They spent a lot of time outside school hours studying hard - meeting with their Battle team virtually, reading the twelve Battle books, and learning a whole new computer program - all to represent Kincaid amazingly well.
I would also like to say thank you to the families who supported their students over the past three months. Without you, we wouldn't have had a confident team ready to take on the challenge.
Our team worked so well together and always exhibited a positive attitude! The Kincaid Battlers who participated in the tournament are listed below:
Abby C.
Cullen S.
Hannah V.
Kamden L.
Kate S.
Kylie S.
Reese K.
Zach N.
I was proud to be your coach.

Kincaid Hot Lunches
This year students will not go through a line to receive their hot lunch from school. All lunches are placed on a cart and delivered to the student in the space that they are eating. Our students eat in a variety of spaces including the gym, mpr, and classrooms. The best change this year is that ALL hot lunches are FREE! If your child forgets their lunch at home, there will be no charge this year!
