Eaglet Gazette
Enfield Head Start, Integrated Pre-K, PK STEAM Academy
February 11, 2022
Greeting SELC PK Families,
Happy Friday PK! Our Eaglets have been enjoying outside time this week! The warm weather has been a welcome surprise! We have a short week next week and the 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day, 2022. I challenge all of you to intentionally do something kind for another human being this weekend!
- In continued celebration of Black History Month focused on health and wellness, many of our Eaglets will get to know Dr. Patricia Era Bath. She was the first African American person to receive a patent for a medical purpose. She founded the American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness and challenged traditional approaches by proposing a new discipline, community ophthalmology, which challenged hospital based eye care.
A FEW REMINDERS:
- Head Start Rooms 1, 3, 9, 10, and 11 dismiss at 12:30 on Thursday the 17th
- No school for Eaglets on Friday February 18th, Monday February 21st, and Tuesday February 22nd
- Head Start Family Conferences are on February 17th, 18th, and 22nd!
- The application link for school year 2022-2023 is LIVE! You can apply for Head Start, Integrated PK peer seats, or the PK STEAM Academy by visiting www.enfieldschools.org and clicking on STOWE EARLY LEARNING CENTER PREK APPLICATION! IF YOU'RE 3 YEAR OLD IS ALREADY ENROLLED IN HEAD START AND YOU WISH TO CONTINUE IN THE PROGRAM, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REAPPLY!
- Remember to share any changes to your child's emergency contact information! If you have a new phone number, email, or additions or deletions to people allowed to pick your child up, let your child teacher know ASAP.
- If you have an infant or toddler at home, we would love for you to take a brief survey! Head Start is working to identify infant/toddler care needs in our community! The survey closes on February 18th. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Enfield-IT-Stowe
- Help us learn about oral health in our community by taking a quick survey below! You will receive a "Toddler Plate" which guides healthy meal choices for participating!
- In the event you need to contact the school with COVID related questions or information, please email Nurse Jen jmaier@enfieldschools.org and Jaclyn Valley at jvalley@enfieldschools.org to ensure that we are able to respond in a timely manner.
- Remember to dress your child in layers, as it is easier to remove clothing if they are warm at school.
- Please send your Eaglet with mittens/hats and a warm winter jacket as we try to get outside even if it is for a walk around the building.
