From the Nest
Welcome to week 32!
ONCE AGAIN...NO CHANGE TO THE MASK MANDATE
Motivation for the week...
Odds and Ends...
- If you did not pick up your linear calendar materials, please do so ASAP tomorrow! If you took more Velcro than the directions noted, please put it back. This was purchased for this project and we want everyone to have the right amount.
- For those of you who did not hear, Tasia will be leaving us for new adventures. We are sad for us and happy for her. Her last day will be May 5th. Please wish her well when you see her in the hall!
- For anyone who had a coaching session with Jade tomorrow, it will be rescheduled. Unfortunately, her husband's grandmother passed today. Please send her a thinking of you email during the time you were supposed to meet with her.
- Staff Meeting April 26th
- CHANGE TO PD ON APRIL 27TH: You will spend a half an hour dedicated to family engagement and conflict resolution and then you will end your day with Alexis and Shannon continuing our EDI work.
- The week on May 9th Head Start Focus Area 2 Federal Review (On site---Manchester will also be present as our Grantee)
- STILL NO CALL, but NAEYC-Any time between now and May 24th---2 days on site visit
OLD NEWS, BUT HERE IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
- FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: Please do not (staff/students) flush “flushable” wipes down the toilets any longer as these lead to plumbing issues. DPW will be supplying diaper cans to schools to dispose of these wipes.
- Refresh yourselves on Fire Drill procedures and locations...it is warmer and we are in a new month
- If someone other than me approves your time off, please make a copy of your personal day forms and give them to Kathy so she has them for payroll purposes and scheduling! Each program has differences that make our building quite complex. Thank you for helping with this to keep things flowing efficiently!
- New Fire Drill Location APPROVED!
- CORRECTION TO LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES: ONCE KATHY CALLS THE DRILL YOU MUST REMAIN IN LOCKDOWN STATUS UNTIL DON CRABTREE, FELIX, MYESLF, OR A POLICE OFFICER UNLOCKS YOUR DOOR!
- If your attendance goes through me, and you are going to be absent, I cannot stress the protocol enough. You MUST include Kathy for payroll purposes. For those of you who report attendance to pupil services, it is helpful to know who will be out.
- CHECKING EMAIL SHOULD BE A TOP PRIORITY
- With COVID still with us, COHORTING and dedication to our mitigation strategies as best we can is still a priority. Please pay careful attention to your attendance.
- If a child is out due to COVID (positive case or quarantine), mark them remote present. If a family is choosing to keep their child home because they are not feeling comfortable sending them due to COVID, mark them absent.
- Please remind your families to include Nurse Jen and me in any emails they send regarding COVID. This will ensure that we catch the email during off school hours.
- Attendance, attendance, attendance...IT MUST BE ACCURATE AND TIMELY!
- If a child is late due to the bus, DO NOT MARK THEM TARDY
Mindfulness on the Mind
Think About It...
Wait for it...
