The University of South Carolina is hiring an experienced higher education innovator to lead information technology efforts at the state’s flagship research institution, President Michael Amiridis announced Friday (Jan. 12).
John “Brice” Bible Jr. will serve as vice president for information technology and chief information officer, beginning March 1. Bible is currently vice president and CIO at the University at Buffalo, a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities, with an enrollment of 32,000 students.
Prior to joining the University at Buffalo in 2013, Bible served as the first enterprise-wide CIO at Ohio University. In total, he brings 24 years of information technology leadership to USC.
“We look forward to welcoming Brice to Columbia,” Amiridis said. “He brings an impressive track record of university leadership, including successful implementation of enterprise projects and digital transformation. I look forward to working with him to bring world-class innovation to our campus.”
Bible earn a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Technological University and an MBA with an emphasis in business data communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
His selection at USC follows a competitive national search process.
