Rain Garden REVITALIZATION at the Worcester Senior Center
Saturday, June 22 · 9am - 1pm OR
Saturday, June 29 · 3 - 7pm
128 Providence Street Worcester, MA 01604
Join the Regional Environmental Council in collaboration with the Worcester Native Plant Initiative on one or both work days to rehab the rain garden at the Worcester Senior Center. Rain gardens are a natural and sustainable way to collect rainwater and runoff utilizing native plant species.
Both work days will be managed by the Worcester Native Plant Initiative with support from the REC; the Senior Center is home to one of the REC's community gardens and is an REC Mobile Market stop!
Volunteers will mainly be using shovels and rakes to remove turf grass to make way for plants going into the ground the following week. All tools will be provided but if you are willing to bring your own, please do! Please wear comfortable, close-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
