The reef that you are sponsoring has the ability to live on for generations, providing habitats for a host of fish, marine organisms and coral.

Your payment goes directly towards funding our research into providing the environment with the most resilient and beneficial reef possible.

In exchange for your payment, we provide you with a Nurtured.Co digital artwork to thank you for your contribution.

Step 2

WE BUILD THE REEF

Nurtured Reefs are primarily made from rebar steel sourced and upcycled from local construction sites. This reduces our impact on the environment with the use of leftover or recycled materials.

All material used in the design of our reefs is environmentally friendly and has zero risk of harming inhabitants of surrounding ecosystems.

STEP 3

WE NURTURE THE REEF

Over time, the Nurtured structures will continue to grow and develop into a vibrant reef. Currently, our structures are growing at rates of approximately 5cm per year. While this may not sound like much, this growth is effectively 10x the original diameter of the initial rebar steel implemented.

The primary substance depositing and growing on the structure is called calcium carbonate. This is the same material that makes up the foundation of the vast majority of natural reefs around the world.

Nurtured.Co reefs continually grows calcium carbonate and can repair itself over time. It becomes more durable and resilient as the years progress. Our reefs survive through tough conditions where natural reefs may decline.

Scalable

The technology can potentially be implemented anywhere and could be used to save reefs around the globe. It is very cost efficient compared to other artificial reef projects.

Grow Coral 2-10X Faster

Coral will grow far faster when attached to the Nurtured structure and depending on the species it can grow up to 10x faster.

Upcycled Materials

All Nurtured reefs are built using spare/scrap metal from construction sites that we repurpose.
