  • Upward Bound

    Mt. San Antonio College TRIO Upward Bound is a FREE federal program designed to support first-generation and/or low-income students graduate from high school and pursue a higher education. The program provides opportunities for participants at Ganesha High School and La Puente High School to succeed in their education by offering academic services such as tutoring, mentorship, financial guidance, cultural enrichment activities and much more that improve educational access and retention.

  • Student Eligibility

    • Enrolled at Ganesha HS or La Puente HS
    • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • First-Generation and/or Low-Income
    • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
    • Motivated to attend a university
Services
Academic Tutoring
Students are mandated to attend Academic Tutoring after school. College tutors assist students with any school subject such as English, Mathematics, Science and History.
 
Academic Advising
Students are required to meet with the Academic Specialist one-on-one for Academic Advising. The focus is to ensure students are in great academic standing.
 
Saturday Success Academy
Students are mandated to attend Saturday Success Academy once a month where they receive supplemental instruction on English, Mathematics, Science and the College Process.
 
Summer Enrichment Program
Students are invited to participate in a 6-week Summer Enrichment Program. Students are exposed to the college experience by enrolling in a college level credit course and engaging in community building.
 
Spring Break College Trip
Students are invited to participate in the Spring Break College Trip. Students have the opportunity to explore various colleges they will be applying to.
 
Parent/Guardian Involvement
Parents and Guardians are mandated to attend semester meetings. The meetings inform parents and guardians of the college process such as admissions and financial aid.
