Who we serve
Injuries are the third leading cause of death among all Massachusetts residents and the leading cause of death among Massachusetts residents ages 1 to 44. Our Injury Prevention and Control Program is dedicated to reducing the number of preventable injuries through collaboration with partners, evidence-based strategies, trainings, and policies.
Our program works to prevent injuries and keep residents safe by:
- Creating educational materials and trainings
- Coordinating coalitions and networks of injury prevention practitioners
- Informing laws, regulations, and policies that promote safer behaviors
- Implementing and providing oversite for state statutes and regulations
