Long Walk Home

I’m a Big Heart Club Member

I have pledged to choose love over hate to show people experiencing homelessness that they are not alone.

Not the end

We got to 28 Kms on Thursday - that is 2 of us did. One who has been walking in Melbourne did 10 km a day minimum. The weather has been kind this year and we have walked the streets of Sydney and been grateful that we have a place to go back to, unlike those we are raising money to help.
We will continue to walk throughout the year - and to think about those who must walk because they have no alternative.

Day 3 : Wednesday a suburban walk

Sydney's lower north shore have some beautiful leafy pockets, places to hide, places to picnic, places to walk and play. Today we walked around suburban streets, down little laneways and into tiny parks known only to the locals. We covered around 8 kms re-discovering a part of Sydney we know and love. Our total kms is now 22.6km this week!

Days 2

Day 2 we covered around 7 km in the beautiful bushland around Balls Head on the lower north shore. This is a beautiful public space of restored bushland which could be miles from the city. It is dense woodland with plenty of places to hide. During the Depression there were huts built of stone and small cabins hidden in the bush as well as the caves. We still see the occasional evidence that someone is using a cave as a home.

Day 1 - A slow start on a beautiful day

With one of us out because of an illness, two walked from Coalcliff to Scarborough over the Seacliff bridge. Glorious spring day - great way to start the walk.

We're onto it!

Our little team of three was unable to walk today October 7th, but we will be out there on Monday and heading south of Sydney. Last week we received a t-shirt which was almost big enough for all of us! So we took our photo on Redfern station while we were out walking.

Our Fourth Year of Walking for the Wayside Chapel

We love walking - and we love having this opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause.
We look forward to sharing our walks - and our progress on this blog and on social media.
We would also love others to join us along the way - so if you are interested in joining us please contact us either on Facebook or by email to Carol at carolfallows@gmail.com.
See you soon!

Support my 28km Long Walk Home to Help People in Crisis

Every week, a person sleeping rough on our streets has to walk 28km to find shelter or a place to sleep.

Please sponsor my challenge to support the most vulnerable people in our community.

Every step I take and every dollar you help us raise will deliver love, support and assistance to those in crisis. Thank you.

So far I helped deliver:
