Does Google Know Something We Don't - Google Pushing Back Return To Work To September 2021 A very interesting article from the Daisuke Wakabayashi & The New York Times We think Big Tech is going to lead the way and will create a “flexible working” competitive benefits war that is going to force all tech & non-tech firms to react. The articles speaks to Google piloting a 3 day work week in the office for collaboration for those that need to be in the office. What is more interesting is why did Google push back a “return” of some sorts to September. Did perhaps they use their big data capabilities around search to make an assessment as to when a “safe %” of the population might be vaccinated? We anticipate and predict that Google will push back until 2022 a return to the office in some form. 👏 Flexible safe WFH is the future and reality. Australia closed shop when this all hit, no one in or out, businesses pivoted or people did to survive. The government helped and continues to do so to some degree. All incoming to the country have been and continue to be quarantined, strict laws in place. Some businesses are returning for a number of reasons back to an 'office' which helps other businesses around them too, however, some have either stayed remote or started to do a more flexible approach to keep people safe but also because productivity increased. Maybe Google are doing the same, looking at the data, keeping people safe, being more productive. I am very pleased that my company and products were already online years before, all staff work remote as we have no office.
