‘Proud to be called the most pro-life governor’: Gov. Stitt signs another abortion-related bill
Gov. Kevin Stitt on Tuesday announced he has signed another abortion-related bill.
“I will continue to keep my promise and sign every piece of pro-life legislation that hits my desk. Today, that's SB 918,” Stitt said in a post to social media. “I am proud to be called the most pro-life governor!”
Senate Bill 918 repeals Oklahoma’s abortion regulations, meaning Oklahoma would automatically outlaw legal abortions, if the attorney general certifies that the U.S. Supreme Court has overruled Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, meaning Oklahoma once again would have the right to prohibit abortion; or, if the AG certifies that there is an amendment to the United States Constitution saying that states can prohibit abortion.

The bill essentially says that if the U.S. Supreme Court ever were to overrule the right to an abortion, Oklahoma will immediately outlaw abortion. Without this law, lawmakers would have to meet following such a ruling to outlaw abortion.
Stitt signed three bills Monday to restrict abortions in Oklahoma.
