SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation took to Twitter Tuesday morning in the hope that they could reunite a child with their stuffed dinosaur.
In a tweet from its main account, WSDOT said someone reached out to them saying they found the toy on the side of eastbound Interstate 90 just past Snoqualmie Pass on Friday as Memorial Day weekend travel was underway.
OK let's do some good and make magic happen. Someone reached out to let us know they found this dinosaur on the side of EB I-90 just past @SnoqualmiePass Friday. The dino wants to get back to its family. Anyone have a lead so we can help reunite it? pic.twitter.com/RVCLh5FiFj

Though it may have seemed like a longshot, WSDOT’s other Twitter accounts joined in to spread the word.
“Let’s help this little dino find its family!” @WSDOT_East tweeted. The account covers travel information east of the Cascades.
@WSDOT_Tacoma, @WSDOT_SW and @WSDOT_North also jumped in with retweets to help.
🦖🦕Is your herd of dinos missing its triceratops? It may have been found along EB I-90 just past @SnoqualmiePass on Friday. We'd love to reunite it with the little paleontologist that is surely missing it. https://t.co/1WA7uwIpBX

And it worked!
The mother of a little boy named Kameron posted on Facebook that he lost his beloved dinosaur over Memorial Day weekend as his family crossed I-90.
WSDOT said on Twitter that a reunion is in the works.
Sometimes, social media, you redeem yourself. Kameron's mom reached out on Facebook that he lost his dino over the weekend as they crossed I-90 & has been heartbroken. A reunion is being worked on ASAP so stay tuned! Here they are before they were separated! https://t.co/5cQy3iqk5C pic.twitter.com/U4zmTa8PQU
