Altenew March 2022 Whimsical Fairy Tale Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prize

Hello and welcome to the the new Altenew March 2022 Whimsical Fairy Tale Collection Release Blog Hop.I am so glad you are joining me today from the absolutely talented and creative Nichol Spohr's Blog. Details for the giveaway are at the bottom of the page.

This release has some really amazing stand alone dies that you can either use as a focal image for your project or as an accent. I have made two cards to show different ways of using the embossing folder.

For my first card I decide to used it as an accent behind the main focal image.

I started with a watercolor card stock, but before I ran the folder through the embossing machine, I dabbed embossing ink over the surface of the folder. After the yardstick was embossed I added gold embossing powder and removed the powder from a few spots using a dry brush and then heat petit. This gave the embossed scallop a distress look.

I added aqua color watercolor paint on the surface which made the embossing very visible. I colored the PAF Sweet Pea stamp with very subtle shades to keep it from overpowering my embossed background.

For my second card I used the embossed image as the focus.

I love the look of letterpress cards and the new Flower Bed Embossing Folder is perfect for that. I chose watercolor card stock again for this card as well. (FYI- In my opinion watercolor card stock emboss beautifully without cracking the paper. Also spritzing it a little with water before you emboss will give you an amazing embossed result. )

I inked the embossing folder with some blue crisp ink and then embossed it. The ink adhered to the non embossed areas on the card stock giving it a beautiful letterpress effect.

In order to keep the embossed area as my focus I added a small portion of the Hanging Garden Die which I cut using white and platinum glitter card stock.

I hope you I gave you some ideas on how to use these embossing folder. Have fun using them on your next project and don't forget to show off your work on Altenew's Facebook Fan page or tag Altenew on your IG Post. Next stop on the hop is the very creative Daniel Diaz
