Carolyn was my neighbor in 7th and 8th grade. Once in 8th grade I asked her to go steady and she said yes. I had no idea what it meant but I thought it was cool. We went to the skating rink near 85th and Greenwood that night, it was Friday. We skated together all night and that is when I got my first kiss! I will treasure that memory always. The weekend rolled by and we didn't talk on the phone or see each other, not really sure why. We met at the bus stop to go to Christ the King school on the following Monday. I was really happy to see her but then she handed me my ring back and that was it. My heart was broken. Years later she attended my wedding and we talked about that time and how silly we were. Carol will always have a very special place in my heart.

Carolyn and I attended Christ the King and also went to Ingraham. We lived blocks apart and I recall her spending the night with a large family in our early days. That is an experience within itself for a girl that had two other sisters. I think she was impressed with all the canned fruit but would not try the strange looking prunes. I told her not to look at how they looked....because they tasted sooooo good. I don't remember if she ever did try them or not.

Carolyn was a vibrant loving soul and I miss her. I have many memories that included Carolyn.

Aside from our friendship during our years at Ingraham, Carolyn & I worked at Sears & played on the same softball team for years.  She always knew how to make me laugh!   What a great friend!

i went all through Christ the King with Carolyn, and three years at Ingraham. She had an infectious smile and had great athletic ability. She excelled in all sports. She was very popular but never made the not so popular kids feel like they didn't matter.

She was a friend to everyone. Though we go through life not seeing the people we grow up with, we think of those times often. I was at a funeral at Christ the King for an old family friend and happened to sit with Maggie Strickland and Patrick and Kerry Sullivans moms. Mrs. Strickland told me Carolyn had died and i felt such a sadness. Just like it was yesterday when we played volleyball.

Rest in peace Carolyn, you were a special person.

Carolyn was one of my oldest and close friends.  We met at Christ the King school and shared many memories together:   Ingraham HS, boyfriends, weddings, husbands, housebuying, childbirth, 40th birthday in Vegas, our monthly girl's get together.
She was a lifelong friend and I still miss her.

I went to Christ The King Elementary School and as well Ingraham High with her. We had some fun times together and she had a great zest for life and was a good skier. I feel I was one of the lucky ones to have spent time with her during my life. Reading all the comments from the list of people who knew her
(all of which I know) really hit me . Lots of tears  She had some special friends that I am sure miss her.

To Carolyn's Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember Carolyn always smiling and knew so many people at school. I hadn't seen her since then. I know she will be missed.

Sincerely,

Beth
