Heartland’s comprehensive Biosolids Conversion Process offers a cost-controlled solution to complex industry-wide residuals challenges. The process sets new standards in biosolids management. Designed to address growing uncertainty faced by wastewater treatment facilities, Heartland provides a cost-effective long-term disposal solution optimizing resource recovery and delivering assured PFAS destruction.
Two proprietary advancements lie at the heart of Heartland’s new process: the HelioStorm™ ultra-high temperature ionic gasifier and the Heartland Dryer featuring our proprietary LTC Dry™ technology (Low Temperature Conductive drying).
Challenges In Biosolids Management
Growing pressure on land application
Major concerns with landfill acceptance
Incineration not growing … and not optimal
Increasing concerns and expected regulatory pressures around PFAS “forever chemicals”
Outlets are Constrained. Regulations are Tightening. Prices are going up!

Technology
Heartland HelioStorm™
HelioStorm™ is a novel ultra-high temperature gasification technology that can be used as an environmentally friendly means to dispose of dried biosolids from wastewater treatment plants as well other waste feedstocks. Electrically driven and combustion-free, the high temperature process destroys chemical contaminants and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including destruction of perfluoroalkyl compounds (PFAS).
LTC (Low Temperature Conductive Drying) Dryer
Heartland’s LTC Dry is a state-of-the-art technology that sets new standards in sludge drying operations. Designed to address the challenges faced by wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities, Heartland’s LTC Dry advanced thermodynamic process utilizes dry matter for economic and reliable heat transfer.
