BARNESVILLE — Gordon State College names Meagan Pearson as the Development Officer, effective April 1, according to a statement from the college released Friday.
Pearson is a two-time alumna of GSC, having earned her associate of arts in psychology in 1999, while in 2020, she earned a bachelor of science in human services. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree online in English and creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University. She is expected to graduate in June.
“I am excited to join Highlander Nation. Gordon State College has always felt like home to me. The feeling of community and the commitment to academic excellence are apparent as soon as you step onto campus,” Pearson said in a statement.
“Over the years, I have seen Gordon grow and become a catalyst for change in so many lives, including my own. I’m eager to be involved in this dynamic atmosphere and lend my service and support to all that Gordon State College, the faculty and staff and the students will accomplish in the future.”
Pearson committed 21 years to serving the residents of Georgia by working with the Georgia Department of Human Services in various roles. During that time, she discovered a passion for helping others and aiding in their success.
Montrese Adger Fuller, vice president of advancement, external relations and marketing, said GSC is glad to have Pearson join the team, according to a statement.
“I’m delighted to have Meagan as a new edition to our advancement, external relations and marketing team,” Adger Fuller said in a statement. “I am positive that she will help us move our fundraising efforts to the next level.”
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, Pearson was raised and currently resides in Zebulon with her daughter, Gabriella Pearson. Her interests include music, reading and baking.
