Description:
Manage boat inspections, public outreach and boat decontamination operations at the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino Marina. The Lead Watercraft Inspector will be part of a two-person crew dedicated to inspecting and pressure-washing all recreation and fishing boats operating on Lake Superior leaving from and returning to the marina. Duties will include set-up, operation and occasional maintenance of a trailer-mounted pressure washer (and berm/underlayment) system. Inspectors will routinely communicate with boat owners/operators and perform public outreach on the causes, effects, and mitigation efforts of invasive mussels in Lake Superior.

Education:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Previous experience in a conservation or land management field such as wildlife biology or wildland fire preferred.

Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a CURRENT DRIVER'S LICENSE.

 

Grand Portage requires a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for all positions. American Indian Preference will apply.
