Welcome Back Seattle!  

Seattle Parks and Recreation is excited to announce that we are hiring Summer Day Camp Recreation Attendants to serve some of our most vulnerable populations, youth and adults with disabilities.

If you love being involved with the community, giving back and share your gift of joy with people that are looking for you to help brighten their day, and are 18 or over, make sure to apply today!

Hours Monday -Thursday 9:00am – 1:30pm, with camps running July - September.


COVID safety protocols are strictly enforced to keep you and people in the community safe.

Job Responsibilities


  • Supervision of a group of youth and adults with disabilities, which may include responsibility for the care, safety, dressing, feeding, and toileting during day programs. 
  • Help in the planning and implementing daily activities for participants, such as sports and games, hikes, sing-a-longs, classes, etc. 
  • See that all participants' needs are being met and that they are involved and having fun!
Part of the responsibilities that you may be asked to do include:
  • Toileting / changing diapers / cleaning up participants, male or female.
  • Feeding participants unable to feed themselves.
  • Some participants are in wheelchairs and may need to be transferred.
  • Some participants may have behavior issues.

Qualifications

You will love this job if you have:

  • Good customer service skills, ability to work with diverse group of people, and a strong desire to assist the community.
  • Experience or a desire to help people with developmental disabilities.
  • Enjoy working with a team, great interpersonal skills.
  • Some experience working in a recreational/educational program setting.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to maintain records, creativity, and good judgment in problem-solving, good attendance.
License, Certification, and Other Requirements:
  • American Red Cross Multi-Media First Aid Card and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Current, valid WA Driver's license. Driver's Abstract will be required upon selection.
