Lyriope got what she ever wanted, the attention of her father, but she soon will regret that.
In Bryant Morelli's house, she is just waiting to be married to one of the Sidorovs.

description

Nick won't accept this, so he visits Lyriope in her room.
She refuses him constantly, in this book, Lyriope kinda annoys me…

description

The big, bad, ruthless Nick is just a pawn in her hands, I was expecting more from this book.
The previous were so good.

description

I hate Bryant Morelli and Caroline Constantine.
I'm hoping for their story, but no matter how sad it will be, nothing can justify what both of them do to their own children and to the other people.

description

I hate that nothing happened to Cora.
Nick deserved to know the snake that he puts so much trust.
I understand that Lyriope didn't want to hurt him, due Cora being like a mother to Nick, but it just didn't seem right, and Lyriope is lying to Nick, hiding very important information.

description

I love Nick and all his projects, but I was hoping for a rougher man.
The Wonderland theme is amazing.
Lyriope wasn't at his level in this one.

This is book three in The Wonderland Series and it concludes Nick and Lyriope's story. Wow Wow Wow I can't believe that we have come to the end of Nick and Lyriope's story in this amazing and explosive series and I am so sad to see it end. To watch Nick and Lyriope to through so much and grow together as a couple was such a beautiful thing to see and even though they had many ups and downs there love for each other was strong enough to pull them through and make them a force to be reckoned with. There are twists and turns along with a great storyline that pulled you in and just wouldn't let you go and had you turning the pages to see what would happen next and it had you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath wondering what the outcome would be for them. The connection and chemistry between Nick and Lyriope was so strong and intense and there story takes you on a roller coaster ride that you don't want to get off because you feel like you are there living through everything with them and it was so dark and addictive that I couldn't put it down and definitely recommend you read it and you will not be disappointed.

Wow!! Just Wow!! I somehow didn't see the details of that coming. Lyriope and Nick's story comes to a brilliant ending with this final book in Alta Hensley's "Wonderland" series. There's no way to read this without being pulled in and emotionally becoming a part of all the drama, excitement, and heartbreak… even the scenes have residual effects. If you've followed the series up to now, you'll know Lyriope has wanted to be acknowledged as his daughter by her father Bryant Morelli. The absolute pain and heartbreak of discovering the difference between her reality and the fantasy she's held is a bit heartbreaking but does he acknowledge her? You'll need to traverse that road with her to get the answer and the full impact. And then there is Nick. The mad villain of Wonderland who has always played in the neutral zone, never becoming involved. Except he's come to realize he'd do anything, go to any lengths to make her happy and he's proved that in spades. I loved the story and the characters were phenomenal but there was a part of me that wished Lyriope hadn't forgiven her nemesis quite so easily.

I’m so sad to see the end of this series. I have loved every moment of Nick and Lyriope’s story. Watching these two fall in love and become everything to each other was beautiful. In this final book we find Lyriope trying to find love and acceptance in the Morelli family. She quickly learns that her father is not the man she dreamed of. She was searching for something that she already had in Nick. He allowed her to explore this side of her dreams while always waiting and watching. In the end this man of questionable morals was the one to save her life figuratively and literally.

The entire story captured me from the start. I loved how the first book was about Lyriope’s struggles and their meeting. The second book showed them falling in love in Italy. I absolutely loved the tattoos they got and the references to Alice in Wonderland. The third book allowed them to find their HEA. I loved them so much and I’m sorry to see them go. Hopefully, Hensley will give us an epilogue with a glimpse into their future.

Don’t cheat yourself out of this great read!

Oh my goodness! Cue the champagne and caviar. In the finale of Nick & Lyriope’s story you are shocked, dazzled, stunned, amazed, and vindicated. As the bastard child of Bryant Morelli, Lyriope isn’t ever acknowledged, but millionaire eccentric Nick sees her beauty and value and will do whatever it takes to show the world. With her cousin Sasha’s help, Lyriope finds her courage while Nick builds her resolve revealing a strong woman with a backbone of steel. Through her struggles she has become a beautiful Phoenix rising from the ashes of the unfortunate life she was born into. The only question I still have unresolved is about Cora. I’m all for forgiveness but Nick needs to know of her deception. Oh and Harrison needs a HEA.

You may be used to dancing with the devil in your life, but you’ve never tangoed with a madman. The devil has nothing on me.

This is the fiery conclusion to the Wonderland trilogy. I've been absolutely dying to get my hands on this ever since the jaw dropping cliff hanger in Queen of Hearts. So of course I binge read the book in one sitting eager to see how it all comes together and ends.

Lyriope Morelli is desperate for her father's acceptance. The bastard child of the Morelli family, all she's ever wanted is to rightfully claim her name. So when everything falls apart and she's forced to marry a stranger in a business deal for her father, she unwillingly accepts. She has no choice, no matter how desperately she wants to stay with Nick. Nick, meanwhile, will burn the world to the ground to get her back.

If I thought I couldn't hate Bryant Morelli more, he proved me wrong in this book. I seriously wanted the man to get hit by a bus. Nick and Lyriope burn up the pages together, which was a needed distraction from wanting to bludgeon the eldest Morelli, but I digress.

Ultimately, while this was an entertaining read, I had a hard time staying in the story. I think this could have been a duet, and found parts of this book a bit stretched out. I also wanted a bit more of a satisfying wrap up to things like everything around Cora, which felt unfinished. I also think this was entirely my own puny brain working against me too. Because when I have to wait too long between books, I do ultimately forget most of what I read and what had me riveted to the story and eventually just lose interest. But it was still a fun read that packed a steamy punch.

Nothing is as Lyriope expected when she leaves Italy with her father, Bryant Morelli.

Having promised her in an effort to solidify and foster alliances with the Russian crime family, Bryant has arranged for Lyriope to marry a Sidorov.

In this final installment of the Wonderland series, we see Lyriope accept who she is - and who she isn’t. We also see a more tender side to Nick, which was at odds with the man we’ve known prior.

I was, at times, frustrated with Lyriope during this book. But loved the characters and series as a whole.

***4 "Yours forever!!!" stars***

"Did I just give up one nightmare only to get into a worse one?"

The conclusion to this wonderful story had finally come and the road to salvation for our heroes is paved with countless thorns...
Lyriope's wish has finally came true, but was it worth it after all???
Nick is showing unbelievable restrain in here when he really wants to start a war that he might not be able to win...
Still... even though they are apart, they are drown toward each other and they might start a fire that will burn everything in their way!!!
Are their love above everything else???

"We are not the lovers that star in the story. We are the outcasts. The side characters that lurk in the shadows. That's where you have put us."

Bryant Morelli had finally acknowledged his bastard child as his own...
Lyriope left Nick behind for a chance on fatherly love and for finally belonging to a family...
But soon, her rose tinted glasses have to drop from her eyes and see the truth!!!
Bryant Morelli doesn't care for anyone but himself... and her sacrifice might been for nothing!!!

"I have willingly placed myself in this palace, this fortress, this prison -all for reasons that doesn't seems to be coming in fruition."

Nick Hudson had to let go Lyriope... But she is inside of him and he is determined to get his queen back no matter the consequences...
He just needs to bind his time and to give Lyriope time to come to him on her own...
But they are running out of time and he won't be satisfied if he don't have Lyriope by his side, in his Wonderland...

"Wonderland. It was my everything... Until she entered my life. Now it's her. Only her."

I liked this couple very much!!! The author had built up an amazing connection between them throughout the whole series in many levels...
There was love after all between them and in here, it was shining brightly!!!
I won't hide to you that I was furious many times with Lyriope... I can relate with her dream, but she was letting others to mistreat her and she just wasn't doing anything and I was getting so frustrated!!!
From the other hand, my love for Nick had grown in here!!! His love for Lyriope was showing and it was a marvellous thing to watch... I liked his patience and understanding...
These two together were pure fire!!!

"In another life, you and I could have really been something special."
"I only have this life."

This was my first time reading about a Morelli and even though I have heard great things for other Morelli members, Bryant Morelli didn't impressed me at all!!!
I just wanted him out of the picture cause he was the worst. Still, I'm not losing my faith in this clan... LOL!!!
The midnight dynasty world is a very appealing place and Nick Hudson's Wonderland was a magical place that I would love one day to visit in flesh!!!

"I like it in Wonderland. I don't want to ever leave. It's the perfect fairy tale."

An action packed and drama filled finale for our modern day Mad Hatter and his Alice-turned-queen. This finale brings all the mad hatter insanity- twists, secrets, and the plotting weaves together for a wildly entertaining, steamy, and satisfying conclusions for Lyriope and Nick.

But the path isn’t easy- these two have a lot of enemies, and some frenemies, to thwart and arrange. Nick goes full inspired-hatter here- arranging a big giant metaphorical tea party with tons of moving pieces, truths to manipulate, and pieces to move around. Fortunately, Lyriope finds some steel and becomes more of a player than a pawn. But with the Morellis wandering around, not to mention other more nefarious enemies like the Sidorovs, these two have quite a bit to work through to find their happy. I Ioved Nick leaning into his obsession for Lyriope, and unleashes the full breadth of his cunning and power to try to find a way to outwit and outplay worthy foes. Fortunately, it’s fast paced, and even if the constantly moving pieces don't all fit together right away, it all comes together in the end. Plus more butt stuff, obvi, LOL.

I’ve enjoyed this Wonderland inspired story, and while there are pieces I wished we’d gotten a bit more closure on (looking at Caterpillar), it was lots of fun and erotically enticing. I loved the glimpses we got of the Morellis, and I was hungry for a bit more Morellis series meeting, but I get that wasn’t quite in the cards for Lyriope. I loved the version of Nick we got in this story- less psycho hatter and more protective, ultra obsessed alpha, and I loved that Lyriope finally found her place in the world and her family- she just never expected it to be in wonderland surrounded by madness.

Out of all three books this was my favorite.

I still hated her decision-making process; she kept making mistake after mistake. I know she wanted to build some sort of relationship with her father, but she should have known from the way he treated her from the second he saw her that he was NOT ever going to give her the relationship she so desperately wished for her entire life. I just wanted her to walk out the door and go back to the one person who fought for her and obviously cared about her wellbeing.

She spent a good portion of the book allowing herself to be belittled by her father and his wife. None of her ''siblings'' showed up. I was hoping for one of them to rescue her or show an ounce of sympathy.

I think this is why I wish the authors made more of an effort to keep up with the characters developments from previous Midnight Dynasty books even if they did not write it. The world continuity gets destroyed through these out of character actions.

Overall, this might have been three quick reads (each under 200 pages) but I wish it was just condensed into ONE book.

I was honestly excited about this book, but it wasn't everything I had hoped for. First of all, I loved the first book, and the second one was good too, but I was waiting for Lyriope to finally put her big girl panties on and do something for herself!

Like honestly she was just like an accessory the whole book, not doing anything, literally, she could have at least given Bryant (her a-hole of a father) a piece of her mind. But no, she just stayed there like a damsel in distress waiting to be rescued (and even then saying she doesn't want to get rescued). So, yeah, right now Lyriope is on top of my sh!t list of female characters I am not. fond of.

But overall the whole series is great, and you'll love Nick sooo much!! so give it a go, and have fun!

XOXO

I have thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy from the beginning and Ace of Diamonds the conclusion to Nick and Lyriope's story was fantastic!

Nick is madness and Lyriope calms his madness.
All Lyriope ever wanted was a family.
In this book Nick will prove he will do ANYTHING for her.

AND I LOVED IT!🔥❤️

“Nothing about our love is ordinary,” he says into my ear. “Nothing about you and me and the life we’ll live will be ordinary. Our love is extraordinary. Our love crosses into madness, my queen, and I don’t want it any other way.”

Fantastic book and Fantastic series!

Lyriope has finally been acknowledged by her father, all her life she has been seeking his approval, his love, she has craved to belong, to be part of the Morelli family. Now the chance has come and the cost she had to pay was very high. However she’s sure her sacrifice will save Nick and will also give her a place in the world, without having to scrape for morsel of affection.

~𝑴𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒚-𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒋𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔~

Shame reality is so different than her tinted rose dreams. Bryant is callous, evil, ruthless and he couldn’t care less for his precious daughter. To him, Lyriope is just a bastard daughter who can gain him a good deal to advance his position and profit his business.

~𝑰'𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓~

In the meantime Nick Hudson is planning his next move, the King of Wonderland had to let go of his Queen, but the separation is only temporary, it serves a greater purpose and it won’t be long before he can finally claim back what was always his.

~𝑰 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒚~

The last instalment in this thrilling trilogy is a fast paced story told in dual POV full of passion and an ever growing chemistry, the love between Nick and Lyriope has to pass yet other tests before it’s eventually mature and ready to be accepted. Wonderland isn’t too far away and our heroes aren’t afraid of a few bumps before they reach the and of this epic fantastical journey.

Nick and Lyriope’s story was so much more than I could ever dream of. This couple has been through so much in their lives. Lyriope just wants to be a Morelli, to belong, to be seen by the father who never wanted her.
Nick is spectacularly crazy, with his sensational and over the top Wonderland parties that are secretive and brimming with underworld characters and elite personalities. He waits for Lyriope to realize her childhood wishes will not be fulfilled.
Another thoroughly satisfying story by Alta Hensley!

Ace of Diamonds is the final book in the Wonderland trilogy and conclusion to Nick Hudson and Lyriope Morelli's obsessive and maddening love as they seek to overcome the odds against them. Lyriope made some questionable decisions that frustrated me. I was confused by her sudden desire for Bryant Morelli's love and acceptance when he treated her horribly. Instead of accepting Nick's love and offer of freedom, she stayed in a situation that was abusive and harmful to her. In her attempt to gain her father's approval, Lyriope's naivety and need to be part of a family almost killed her. Nick, who has been watching on the sidelines and waiting all this time, wanted her to come to terms with her own situation before making his move. There was no doubt that he was ever going to let her go—she was his.

"Wonderland. It was my everything… Until she entered my life. Now it's her. Only her. She is my everything. And I believe she knows it."

Despite my frustrations, Nick and Lyriope's story was a whirlwind of emotions and all-consuming lust. The love scenes were incredibly erotic and dirty—Alta simply excels at building up the sexual chemistry of her characters. Nick's obsessive love for Lyriope was a heady thing to witness because he wanted to own all of her. The same can be said for Lyriope whose sexual inhibitions and desires flourished because of Nick. She was equally as obsessed and in love with him. However, Lyriope's decision to stay with her father also meant that she could not be with Nick. Bryant had arranged for her to be married immediately to the Sidorovs. I honestly had no expectations for Bryant Morelli. Lyriope deserved better. I wanted her to realize that he was never going to see her as his daughter and to stop making excuses for him. Unfortunately, she didn't come to this realization until the end.

"Nothing about you and me and the life we'll live will be ordinary. Our love is extraordinary. Our love crosses into madness, my queen, and I don't want it any other way."

In the end, I enjoyed Nick and Lyriope's tumultuous love story because it was unexpected, emotional at times, and extremely spicy. Even though Lyriope took some time to be the queen that Nick needed her to be, she was able to overcome her own shortcomings and forsake Bryant Morelli for her chosen family. We might be getting a book for Harrison, Nick's right-hand man, and Sasha Morelli—Lyriope's sassy and confident cousin. I'm rather curious about these two and hope Alta will be writing a book for them in the future. Fans of Alta Hensley and the Midnight Dynasty world will not want to miss out on this hot and steamy romance with many references to Alice and Wonderland. I recommend this trilogy to those who like reading the dark billionaire trope with a possessive and controlling "Mad Hatter" of a hero who will do anything to own his defiant and stubborn "Queen of Hearts."

4.5 stars - A Wonderland to rise above all wonderlands

POV: dual
HUMOR: some dark humor
F BOMBS: yes
CLIFFHANGER: no
NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: violence, domestic violence, male chauvinism, explicit and rough sexy times, fifth base, neglect, low self-esteem

CHARACTERS: Nick Hudson (a man to be feared yet fears no one) and Lyriope (forgiving, low self-esteem)

OVERALL: A great series for fans of dirty, explicit, dark romance, a bit of mafia action, with elegant fantastical parties in Wonderland

PROS:
1. In my reviews of book 1 and 2, I was so enraptured with the two MCs that I neglected to mention the two supporting characters, Sasha and Harrison, who are wonderful and a big support system to the main characters. These two truly bring hope and strength to the story. They're the friends who you wish you had in life.
2. I totally love Nick Hudson - what a man! Best mad hatter. Ever. Loved the scene with him sauntering out the Morelli's front door with loads of swagger - look for this scene when you read it!
3. Still, consistent with the trilogy, Nick treats Lyriope like a queen. Always seeing her for who she is and her potential despite her self-esteem issues. (hearts coming out of my eyes as I sigh dreamily!)

CONS:
1. I understand why she did it, but Lyriope's back and forth wanting Nick but leaving him again and again, got to me a bit. Yelling "Just go with him" at my Kindle didn't do anything except scare the birds outside.
2. Although I give credit for her strong move in forgiving a certain someone, I secretly (or not so secretly) would've enjoyed seeing Lyriope get a bit justice.

NOTEWORTHY:
1. Final book in Wonderland Trilogy. Must first read books 1 (King of Spades) and 2 (Queen of Hearts).
2. Favorite quote by Lyriope: Licking my lips, I moan and say, "The only thing I'm going to regret is if you don't make me scream." Classic Nick Hudson... He takes that challenge and delivers. I scream. And scream. And scream again.
3. I was pleasantly surprised the author offered a bonus epilogue at the end of the book. Just click the link and sign up with your email.

These two are mindblowing!!

I loved this trilogy. The conclusion was perfect. Lyriope learns that her father is not what she expected and the only thing he cares about is his plans. Nick, he is the ultimate mastermind. He gave her the space she needed and helped her find herself. I think the second book is my fav, especially their time in Italy. They fell in love and it was just beautiful.

Everything comes together in this book. I'm quite sad that this is over. The plot, characters, the development ..I enjoyed every second of it! If you like books with morally grey characters with a hint of mystery, this one is for you!

Meeeh... It's quite erotic, with lots of chapters just dedicated to sexual scenes between the MCs. In addition, FMC's dad issues were boring.

I think there is no need for a trilogy when this book so superficially develops/ends the intrigues of the last book..it's just a book with lot's of sex.

All her life Lyriope Bailey remained in the shadows, while longing for the love of her father, and to be part of the Morelli family.
But when she is finally allowed into the Morelli Mansion, Lyriope learns that her father has never even thought about her and has no intention to start.

I liked Nick, his madness making him able to create the Wonderland illusion. But Nick needed his Queen to calm the madness. But sadly Lyriope did not understood how to be a Queen. But luckily her King knew what she needed and waited patiently for his Queen to come to him.

I did not care too much for Lyriope, she was so messed up, living in a fantasy of being daddy's girl, kept making excuses for his appalling behaviour.

Told in dual POV, alternating between Nick and Lyriope, we got a wonderland conclusion to a turbulent and hot love story!
While the ending was a little too perfect for my liking, I wanted Nick to know about Cora, I was pleased they got their Wonderland HEA.
I do hope Harrison and Sasha's book is in the making.

Fantastic conclusion for this trilogy! I felt so bad for Lyriope! The girl just wanted to be loved, but she was not getting it from the people she should have been. Everything that Nick went through to get her back was super swoon worthy! And he was having to learn patience, which was not at all easy for him! Very enjoyable book. I managed to start and finish it in the same day! Then entire trilogy is absolutely worth the read!

“Nothing about our love is ordinary. Nothing about you and me and the life we’ll live will be ordinary. Our love is extraordinary. Our love crosses into madness, my queen, and I don’t want it any other way.”

This is the final book in the Wonderland series and picks right up where the previous book left off, what a whirlwind of a story we get.

"She is the greatest possession that I don’t have. She’s an antique I need. She’s a priceless heirloom that should be on a mantel. My mantel."

Lyriope and Nick had one drama filled situation after another pulling them away from each other to the point you wondered if they would ever end up together. Lyriope only wanted to fit in with her Morelli family but it would end up costing her the one thing she lived for.....her freedom. Nick would not let Lyriope go so easily when it took him so long to realize how deep his feelings for her went. These two were explosive that you couldn't help but be entranced by their chemistry.

“You’ve shown me what it’s like to be cared about. To truly be protected. To feel that sense of belonging to someone’s heart. You’ve taught me to be a queen. I no longer feel like a victim."

This conclusion was the perfect ending to the Wonderland series and one that I definitely recommend!

I really reaaally enjoyed this book! This was the kind of emotional roller-coaster where she falls first, but he falls faster. Nick would give up everything he gained for Lyriope, his entire empire because it means nothing to him without his Queen. I am a total sucker for this kind of meant-to-be romance story! The book itself was full of twists and unexpected moments. And let's not forget about the steamy scenes because, man, were they HOT! I truly wish we could see more of this couple in the future because I don't feel like I'm ready to say goodbye to them.

totally a five-star read!

I was living for the risky game that these two were playing, I’ve been anticipating a Wonderland experience and my my was it worth the wait. The tease of the unbirthday party was *gasps* Nick is a very calculated man and although things may seem out his hands, he was leading the perfect trail down his dark path, and it was scorching 🥵 especially with the way Lyriope plays with him as much as he plays with her. I called it from book one, these two were created with each other in mind. Crafted for each other down to their very dirtiest desires 🙌🏼

Every possessive thought he had never failed to make me swoon, I knew from the second book that Nick would be more dangerous with Lyriope to fight for, others thought he was weakened by it, shout-out to Harrison who had me raging at him & appreciating him at the same time, but I KNEW down to the deepest parts of my soul that wasn’t the case. And he proved it too. She calmed his storm, the Alice to his Mad Hatter, he’ll never let her go, and that is what makes him dangerous to both of them as well as everyone else.

All in all what a great wrap up to a story, I’m gonna miss Nick and his ‘consequences’ - in my mind they were like an extra character for me to swoon over 👌🏼😉

TLDR: My Ratings:
Star Rating = 3 ⭐️ ‘s
(I enjoyed it & will recommend it)
Heat Level = 🔥 Scorching. That escalated quickly! Nick and Lyriope burned up the pages in this one.
Recommended for: Lovers of dark romance & fans of the Midnight Dynasty world. Also anyone who has read books 1 & 2 and needs to know what comes next.

Ace of Diamonds - the final book in the Wonderland Trilogy, and still Lyriope hasn’t managed to be less of a facepalm character to this reader. We see a glimmer of a backbone near the end of this book when she is dealing with her dad, but even then she’s fully ready to acquiesce again the following day. It’s hard to reconcile Nick referring to her as a queen with the portrayal of this young girl who will literally do anything to have her daddy acknowledge/validate her.

Honestly, this whole book felt a little like a huge bonus epilogue. This probably could have been a duet instead of a trilogy. On the plus side, there are plenty of hot scenes between Nick and Lyriope to keep you engaged and entertained. Also, you need to know what comes after the crazy ending in book 2.

Also, there was no real conclusion to the “frenemy betrayal” situation from book 2. I don’t know if this will show up in a subsequent Midnight Dynasty book as an aside or a plot point, but I can’t help feeling a bit bummed about it. I was hoping and expecting book 3 to serve up some savage retribution. I have further thoughts on this but I prefer not to put spoilers in my reviews. Suffice to say, if I made my living among criminals, I’d want to know who should or shouldn’t be trusted.

I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book, as always YMMV.

My Rating Scale:
5 ⭐️:
A favorite, highly recommend & will definitely re-read
4 ⭐️: I really liked it & will recommend it
3 ⭐️: I enjoyed it & might recommend it
2 ⭐️: Meh, I didn't love it & probably wouldn't recommend
1 ⭐️: Not for me, wouldn't recommend

Heat Level:
🤯 What did I just read?:
Uncategorized, because… what did I just read?
☕️ Warm: Sweet ‘greeting-card company’ level romance kind of book.
🥵 Hot: Unabashedly & deliciously smexy, spicy, dirty, and/or kinky kind of book.
🔥 Scorching: Find a private spot to read this book. 😉

Ace of Diamonds
(Wonderland #3)
By Alta Hensley

Wonderland
It was my everything…
Until she entered my life.
Now it’s her. Only Her.
She is my everything.

Lyriope still hasn’t realized how much Bryant Morelli doesn’t care about her. His plans are the only thing he cares about! Her fantasy of her father telling her how sorry he was for not bringing her into the family is just that a fantasy and she needs to wake up from her dreams before they become a nightmare, because Bryant Morelli is very good at creating nightmares!

Nick however, well his madman thoughts are running through his head. He needs to see her, he knows she is at Bryant’s but how does he get to her? Can he actually take on Bryant Morelli and get what he wants? Oh how his mind works and how he plays people when they don’t know they are being played! This is just one reason I love Nick Hudson, the man is beautifully mad in all the right ways!

Games are being played and everyone thinks they are controlling what is happening. HA!! What they don’t know might hurt them! There is only going to be one winner here, the man with the Cheshire grin is playing to win!

Nick Hudson is all about the spectacle and that is why I will always root for Nick.

With a new Wonderland being planned one needs to wonder, will there be a war?

Will the man playing his Ace card take back his Queen? Will Nick and Lyriope spend the rest of their days together? Anything can happen in Wonderland so don’t be surprised at what you see.

Author Alta Hensley has given readers a steamy hot love story that keeps readers on their toes. Spending time in Wonderland has been amazing and we can only hope we might see more of Wonderland in the future.

This is the third book in this series about Nick and Lyriope. In the last book Lyriope had been promised to marry Pavel Sidorov by her father. Lyriope is going home with her father until the marriage happens. Nick asked her not to go. Lyriope always wanted to be a legitimate part of the Morelli family. Lyriope is looking for a happy ending with her father for these reasons. Lyriope is only willing to go through with this marriage to please her father. Lyriope doesn't exactly find the happy ending she's looking for. Lyriope also wants to keep Nick safe. Nick can't let Lyriope go. I liked this time Nick never gave up even when it looked like Lyriope might have. Nick told Lyriope before he wouldn't allow himself to fall in love with her. Over the course of the 3 books Nick's feelings have changed. Nick would burn the world down for Lyriope. However, Nick becomes aware that he can no longer force Lyriope into a relationship. Lyriope has to willingly choose him. Nick knows after everything falls apart with her father that Nick will be there to pick up the pieces. Nick will also set plans in motion to get what he wants. Nick wants Lyriope to be his queen of Wonderland. Their love is perfect for them a maddening kind of love. I loved the last Wonderland party. I have enjoyed these books. Alta could never write anything bad.

Ace Of Diamonds by Alta Hensley brings the seductive, dramatic and emotional conclusion to Nick and Lyriope's story. It was madness, mayhem and mind blowing chemistry combined into a stunning Alice in the Wonderland retelling.

Nick Hudson has it all. Power. Money. His Wonderland is the playground of debauched and dangerous. Yet he had to let his obsession, Lyriope Bailey aka Morelli to go because her father all mighty Bryant Morelli made a deal with the Sidorovs. He wants to wash his hands off his bastard daughter but Nick won't let her get sold to an arranged marriage.

This story was like a chess game. The players were making moves those I didn't understand till late. Nick's alpha comes out as the Victor at the end. He is even more unhinged, ruthless, cunning and dominating in this book as he is obsessed with Lyriope and he has to get her back. He is the ultimate predator in this cat and mouse game. Lyriope's dream to know and love her father is shattered into pieces now as she can see that he is nothing but cruel and corrupt and evil. She is still holding the pieces of her innocence and sweetness but she is no wonder a more fierce and hardened version now. The chemistry was pure fire as Nick had to show his passion and emotions through their bodies. They are both a bit broken but together, they are invincible.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

“Bye-bye, motherfucker. You may be used to dancing with the devil in your life, but you’ve never tangoed with a madman. The devil has nothing on me.”
♠️
Review: Ace of Diamonds by Alta Hensley. Wonderland trilogy, book 3.
♠️
In this anticipated conclusion of the Wonderland trilogy, Nick is in shambles when he, once again, loses Lyriope in an auction made by the Russian mob and she leaves with an enemy. His schemes to bring her back were great, full of action, lots and lots of steamy, I mean the man is a master os seduction, love and pain run together for him.

But, unfortunately for him, if there’s one person who makes bad decisions is Lyriope. Her always “let’s see the brighter side” kind of annoyed me and her need to see through her dream to become daddy’s girl (and not in a kink way), frustrated me a lot. It’s like the girl had a death wish, which almost proved me correct.

Her luck was that Nick would never give up on her, she’s his queen and the madman won’t spare efforts to own her and get her to his side. There’s plenty of action and twists, but I also laughed a lot and screamed with Nick antics. They guy has no fear or no one to hold him back. He answer to no one and he’s ready to bring he’ll on earth for those who keep Lyriope away from him.

I had a lot of fun reading this trilogy and it was a great way to be introduced to a new to me author.

Well, I have been loving this series and I was so hoping for an EPIC ending in Ace of Diamonds. For me, it wasn't epic enough, but it was action-packed and so steamy I thought my Kindle might spontaneously combust! So I have to say, I enjoyed the read. I still LOVE crazy madman, Nick Hudson. How can you not? He's completely blinded by his love for Lyriope Morelli which makes him do crazy things. A crazy Nick is the best kind of Nick! Then there's sweet misguided Lyriope...hoping against hope that she will be accepted and recognized by her biological father, the evil Bryant Morelli. Never mind that he just wants to get rid of her to the Russian mobsters, the Siderovs. Of course, Lyriope thinks this is just the way things have to be. For awhile there, I kind of thought she was temporarily blind, deaf and dumb. Thank goodness crazy Nick will never give up on her! This series defied reality at times, but it was fun, fun, fun to read and Nick and Lyriope's love story was beyond entertaining! I say, suspend belief, read it and enjoy!
