Savage. Reckless. Wild. These are only some of the words used to describe me. I’m all of those things, and I never wished to be anything else in almost 500 years of existence.

Then she came along. Aurora Leal, the daughter of the High Witch and destined for that role. She’s practically royalty in the magical world, but most importantly, she’s forbidden fruit.

I was taught never to mess with witches, and I had no intention of breaking that rule until the night she crashed into my life. I couldn’t resist the pull, and like an idiot, I succumbed to her charms.

Now I’m screwed. What was supposed to be only a hookup left a permanent mark. I ended up mated to the sassy witch. An eternal commitment wasn’t something I ever wished for, but when your destined mate is promised to someone else, that’s a much bigger problem.

I only have two choices. Either I find a way to break the mating bond or Aurora will become a widow before she says I do. That will definitely start a war between vampires and mages. But the more time I spend with her, the less inclined I am to give her up.

Damn, I guess I’m killing some mages, then.

Multiple conflicts but terrific overall!

I have to say, that though I did really like this book. I felt utterly lost more than once. Even though this book is about a different couple than in the first book Dark Prince, so much of the stories are intertwined. Though I did read the first book and I really liked it, I read it nearly four months ago and since then I have read 100 other books. So though I remembered the main storyline, I forgot a lot of the supporting characters and side storylines.

This book could do a lot better in explaining things that previously happened earlier in the book, because there was so much that I apparently forgot that I often felt I should go back and re-read Dark Prince to figure things out. I guess I just wish that everything was explained a bit better. Either way, my suggestion is to read the series all at once so you don’t have the same issues as I did. However, many of the things I had trouble with were eventually explained later in the story, so it wasn’t too big of a problem.

This book was a good one despite my memory problems. I did remember the heroine Aurora from the previous book, she was a witch attending the Bloodstone Institute in preparation for someday taking over for her mother who is the high witch. She was the one who knew from the start that Vivienne was not vampire but a human who had taken a magic potion to disguise herself as a vampire in order to steal a necklace from Lucca the Blueblood prince. Aurora helped get Vivi food to eat.

In this book Aurora is angry about her arranged Marriage to Calvin who is a mage from a respected and powerful mage family. She can’t get out of the marriage, and on the day she finds out about the engagement she rebels by going to a vampire club and going home with hot Blueblood vampire Saxton. During their one night stand, Saxton drinks Aurora’s blood and discovers later that they are mated.

Witches and Vampires are not supposed to be together and Saxton doesn’t want to do anything that would put his King in a bad light against the witches so he tries to find a way to break the mating bond before it takes over enough to force him to kill Aurora’s fiancée. He struggles and ends up telling Aurora so that she can help try to find a spell to break the bond.

There are quite a few different storylines in this book and some are pretty complex, which which is one reason it is difficult to remember some of the things from book to book. Since a lot of the storylines are part of the ongoing series plots, and only have to do with the main romance in a peripheral manor. One storyline is regarding Rikkon who is the the brother of Vivi and will be the Hero in the next book.

Vivi and Rikkon are Nightingale royalty. The Nightingales are the supernatural species that created vampires and when they left to a different realm called Ellnsari, a lot of detrimental things happened to the vampires. Such as first generation vampires going slowly crazy and second generation vampires needing to hibernate. Vivi and and Rikkon were exiled by their mother the Queen of the Nightingales from the Ellnsari back to earth without their powers so they have to hide and pretend to be regular vampires.

Rikkon also seems to be interested in Aurora’s sister Miranda and vice versa. Though Aurora tells Miranda to forget about him since he used to be a drug addict and Aurora knows he is a Nightingale who was mated back in Ellnsari just as he was exiled. Rikkon took a potion to remove his memories because the mate bond was causing him pain but now he wants his memories returned. Also it is found out in this book that the reason he was a drug addict was because he has visions and gets terrible pain with the visions and the drugs were the only thing that kept the visions at bay. It is unknown if he still has some of his powers since he gets visions.

Another storyline is that of the King Raphael. He is trying to keep peace but there are supporters of Tatiana for the thrown including Jacques and his followers who keep throwing wrenches in the mix by doing things in order to try to get more supernaturals on their side and away from King Raphael. Also, Tatiana is affected by the madness that is striking first generation Bluebloods and King Raphael is not yet. So that is another part of the storyline. As I said, some of these are a bit complex and will want to be remembered from book to book.

The romance between Aurora and Saxon is both hot and sweet. Since they are mates, they have a deep and true love which includes protectiveness and a bond in which they can feel each other. I like the thought of that kind of love. Of course the story and conflicts take precedence over a lot of the book so there are not an overwhelming amount of intimate scenes. There is still some steam in this book. I would say three flames 🔥🔥🔥 out of five. Overall I would give this book a 4.5 just taking off .5 for the issues I had with remembering from the last book, since that probably has to do more with my memory than the fact that explanations were lacking.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Re-read via Audiobook:

Like Dark Prince, the book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. Troy Duran and Mindy Kennedy do the narration and both do a great job of it. Troy Duran is so great, with a deep and sexy voice. Mindy Kennedy is also very good and has a voice that sounds age appropriate for Aurora.

While I didn't love this one as much as the first one, Dark Prince, I still enjoyed this one. Some very good moments. Saxon can feel when she's in danger which is one of my fave type tropes.

This wasn't due out until December but apparently she releases earlier than the listed release date. The third book says April of next year but I hope it will be out soon.

Quotes & Faves:

“I don’t know, Rora.”

Rora? Sweet baby unicorns. Does he want me to melt where I stand? I think my ovaries just exploded.

“No cutesy nicknames, please. Let’s not make this situation worse.”

He smiles, revealing the tips of his fangs. “Sorry. Slip of the tongue.”

Ah, fuck. Now I want his tongue to slip inside me.

I cover my ears. “Quit putting images in my head.”

“I have no such power.” His smile is brighter.

“No,” he answers in a soft breath. “The bond makes me crazy for you, but there’s something apart, a small spark that’s all me. I love you, bond or not.”

WoW! I'm so impressed and so in love with Wild Thing!

There’s a tiny voice in the back of my head saying this is a huge mistake, but I stomp on it until it dies. Saxon freezes, becoming as still as a statue. I don’t think he’s breathing. The moment only lasts a few seconds, and then his fingers are tangled with my hair and his tongue is in my mouth.

Me: picking up Wild Thing
Me: starting reading Wild Thing
Me: finding myself glued to the story and not being bothered by surroundings (and I do have a kid)
Me: finishing the book two and a half hours later

This hero! *panty dropping* Bloodsucker. He is gorgeous, smart, protective, hot, a bit cocky, possessive, loyal, sexy, with a sense of humor, honorable, wicked, ... You name it, he's all that is good.

Aurora is the daughter of the High Witch, and she's expected to act in a certain way. She's forbidden fruit to Saxon. And she's supposed to be someone elses. She certainly must not fall for the Bloodsucker. I loved her sassiness and her boldness.

Now, what happens if a Bloodsucker bites a Witch in the heat of the moment?

.
.
.
*wink*

I was completely mesmerized. The characters were so likeable, I kind of wish they were real and that I was being a part of their gang. The story is so perfect! The plot, shared moments of Aurora and Saxon, demons, catacombs, the twist and the turns,... Magical!

Lucca and Vivienne's story blended perfectly with Aurora and Saxon's. We get a hint of what's comming next. And I for one can not wait.

can vampires and witches be together?
idk, all i know is that i love the forbidden aspect of their relationship.

if you're looking for a romance about fated mates, but one even though they are destined to be together they can't, this is the book for you.
this can be read as a standalone, but you'll enjoy more having read the previous one.

Sweet mother molasses. Lucca was definitely hot. But Saxon is just downright sweet and delicious! I couldn’t get enough of him. Combined with headstrong Aurora? The chemistry was off the charts. And poor Aurora. Having to marry a “douche canoe” (best line) to become High Witch was not on her list. So, why not have a fling with the vampire bad boy? BOOM! Mates. I’ll go ahead and warn you. There is A LOT of action in this book. A lot of action scenes that kept me on my toes but some readers might see as too much going on. But I loved it! The whole ending was a page turner. I can’t wait for the best one! (Eagerly waiting!)

“Bond or no bond, you call me babe again, I’ll rip your nut sack off.”

I loved Saxon and Aurora's story in Wild Thing, vampire and witch, totally hot together, and a great continuation of the #Bluebloodvampires series by Michelle Hercules.

After reading Dark Prince, I was bummed to see Lucca & Vivi weren't the main chars for book 2 and also unsure how the storyline would progress. But I am SO happy to be wrong! I ended up loving Aurora and Saxon and learning more about them. Michelle did an AMAZING job weaving book 1 events into Wild Thing. Blueblood Vampires is quickly becoming one of my favorite series and I cannot wait to read about Miranda and Rikkon. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Lord have mercy. I was willing to give this book a chance because I was mildly entertained by the last one. After this one – I’m done.

Unfortunately, this books starts before the last one. I’m not sure what sense that made, but here we are. 🤷

Lucca is still asleep and Aurora (witchy witch) is helping her mother try to wake him up. She’s also been told she has to marry this wanker, Calvin. In an act of rebellion, she goes to the same club where Saxon (vamp, Lucca’s bff) frequents. They have sex in the bathroom, which I was totally on board for – except it was one of those abbreviated ones that I HATE.
His POV, “I thrust into her, moving my hips faster, this is a battle I can’t win.”, end of chapter.
Next chapter, her POV, “after our romping session in the restroom…”

WTF is that?! You didn’t finish having sex!!!! How dare you rip me off from that climax! Bastards. And FYI – they don’t have sex again for the entire book until the VERY end.

So as I said, Aurora is being forced to marry the wanker, but after having sex with Saxon, she can’t stop thinking about him. Some old woman that’s supposed to be super important in the witchy world shows her a magic mirror with a future where Saxon dies. To save Saxon, she does a blood binding spell promising the old witch that she will marry the douche and get his magic book thing and leave Saxon alone. There’s just too much crap to explain. Somewhere during this story – we realize Lucca has woken up – none of that is addressed. It was REALLY weird and hard to understand.

There are a ton more characters added and more creatures. It was too damn much to keep up with. There were all of the typical references: humorless laughs, hounds of hell, smiles not reaching eyes, etc. etc. Then a lot of crap that was laughable, even for me, and just didn’t make any damn sense.

Did I mention that Saxon and Aurora are mates? He can’t stay away from her and she can’t stay away from him. Except they keep getting zapped by the old witch any time they touch.

I figured out that the Dragons are actual shifters, not just their gang name. So one person shifts into a dragon and is attacking the main characters, and the dragon punches Saxon through the chest. I’m not friends with any dragons in real life, but I can’t imagine them boxing anyone.

Then, there’s this BIG war where all of the supernatural creatures are fighting each other. Mind you it’s all hand-to-hand combat, which doesn’t make sense. But the kicker is the dragons aren’t fighting AS dragons, they’re using assault weapons instead. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?? If you’re a dragon, shouldn’t you be swooping through the air and blasting people with your fire breath?

There’s also a wolf shifter named Coyote, which literally I laughed out loud.

I just couldn’t. Even with Troy Duran’s voice, I wasn’t convinced this was good.

Kocham niezobowiązujące historie, do których mogę usiąść i wiedzieć, że będą przyjemną rozrywką i umilą mi czas. Między tymi łzawymi, albo skomplikowanymi fantastycznymi światami, w które również lubię się zagłębiać.

Do takich książek mogę zaliczyć serie Blueblood Vampires. Za mną już drugi tom czyli „Błękitna krew” i kurczę… jestem trzy razy na tak! Poprzedni tom potraktowałam czysto rozrywkowo bez jakiś większych oczekiwań i w sumie to nawet dobrze bo był świetna rozrywką chociaż bez dużego efektu wow.

Wciągająca, magiczna, dynamiczna i przede wszystkim - pikantna. 🌶

Jeżeli lubicie połączenie magicznych istot i niegrzecznych historii to „Błękitna krew” jest dla Was. Jednak jeżeli nie znacie poprzedniego tomu pamiętajcie, żeby zacząć od początku! ✨

I enjoyed the plotline, but I am not keen on insta love and felt like the MC's didn't really have time to connect beyond their physical attraction with everything that was going on around them. The constant action left little room to see them grow as a couple. But overall it was an entertaining read full on magic and supernatural creatures.

Such a great story!!
Aurora has just been told she's destined to marry a complete a.hole named Calvin.
She needs a distraction and finds one in the bed of a Blueblood named Saxon. Little did they know, that one night turns into a lifelong mating! Trying to find a way to break the bond, whilst trying to resist the ever increasing desire and need for each other is a big enough problem ~ but there's also a war brewing, plus a daemon released from hell, oh and the sacrifice that has to be made 😬 such a great read, I can't wait for book 3!!

Years ago, I was a big fan of Paranormal/Supernatural romances and loved reading them, especially books that featured Vampires/Werewolves, etc. Then like most things, you get a bit bored with reading the same thing over and over again and you one day stop reading it. Recently, I decided to give the Blueblood Vampire series by Michelle Hercules ago. I have been enjoying this series as it's like Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead if they added steaminess and sexiness with edgy content to the story. In Wild Thing, the main story is Saxon - our Blueblood Vampire and Aurora - the next in line to be the High Witch. Aurora being the High Witch has been arranged and told she will be marrying Calvin Belmont of the Belmont Family Witches. This is the worst news as she can't stand his pompous self. On a night of rebellion, Aurora heads to the local bar Havoc and ends up having a night of passion with Saxon. Of course, this triggers a bonding, and turns out Saxon and Aurora are now bonded together but is it possible to break as a Vampire and Witch bonded could cause the start of a war? The other storylines we see in this book is the return of powers from Rikkon who we discovered was a Prince of the infamous Nightingales and someone is trying to stir up trouble in the supernatural/paranormal world as Manu (bluebloods) is being framed for killing a dragon shifter. I am now looking forward to reading the next book in this series as I want to find more about Rikkon and his sister Vivienne's powers.

Read book 1 and 2 and I have to say these books were great! Alpha males and kickass woman, I love supernatural books and mystery surrounding the characters. Michelle delivered now I’m waiting for book 3 to finish the stories of the great characters the author wrote about. I recommend these books as they are easy to follow and really good reads.

To continue in her mothers footsteps as The High Witch she must give her hand in marriage to someone her family and the council have chosen.

A night of freedom from this knowledge to let off steam, results in a passionate encounter with a vampire but ends in disaster as a complication arises tying him to her.

What can she do to escape her fate, or must she become a pawn to achieve her dream....

Oohh I'm loving this paranormal series with a passion.

The first book "Dark Prince" belonged to Lucca and Vivienne, and that set the scene and background.

Now Saxon and Aurora step forward and oh wow they dont pussy foot around that's for sure!

This book is full of passion whether it be fiery or lovey dovey and it's extremely exciting and very alluring.

Saxon was a true one night romeo before her. He sweet talking the girls into a wild ride before moving onto the next.

Aurora was the girl who needed to know everything, and couldn't wait to be more involved. Romance wasnt really on her agenda as such until him.

They make for a very interesting couple. The mixing of a witch with a vampire shouldnt of worked, but it did and I found them so adorably cute. It didnt take me long to grow fond of them both.

This book is fast paced and action packed. There are issues are around every corner, you don't need to look for them, they find you!

Bloodstone Institute is the place to be folks, it's as simple as that!

Obsessed doesn’t even begin to explain my level of interest in this series! I was head over heals for Vivi and Luca but I am completely enthralled with Aurora and Saxon!

From their first tryst to the very last page I just couldn’t get enough of these two! Their passion and lust for one another just had me consuming each chapter faster than I thought possible!

Their storyline covers some of what was discovered in book 1! This series in interconnected and it’s one you don’t want to miss! The intertwining of the magical world is just mind blowing and I love the world Hercules has created! These characters (each one) are very interesting and their world is one that will suck you in! As more truths are uncovered and the plot thickens you won’t want to miss a single thing!

Back to the main hero and heroine of this story! Aurora and Saxon make a decision to throw caution to the wind for one night! What they didn’t expect was for the one night to cause the ripple effect that it does! What they know for sure is that things will never be the same and that being apart is not an option!

We get to see our fave characters from book 1 as well as getting to meet some amazing new ones! If you have yet to start this series no worries start with book one and enjoy the amazing ride!

This book is the second installment of Blueblood Vampires with Saxon, a vampire and Aurora a high witch in training. With extreme attraction and unexpected life altering happenstance things go awry. The plot is not at all predictable or boring. I was flipping my screen so fast eager to read what happened next. I was happy to see Lucca and Vivi( H/h in first series) and the gang, you get glimpses of who could possibly be the next love interest, but honestly there so many characters I want a hea. Plus the fact that there’s a lot of drama left unfinished so there’ll definitely be another book.
This book is so well written, the dialogue definitely doesn’t disappoint, you definitely need to read this!!
I know I will be rereading!!

I have not read a book by Michelle Hercules I didn't devour in one day, and Wild Thing was no different. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to get my hands on book three.
Aurora's sassy comments and Saxon's cocky statements made me fall in love with both, and I was rooting for them from the first page. At the same time, Michelle Hercules has the phenomenal talent to throw in unexpected plot twists, which had me questioning whether or not they’d make it in the end. I definitely didn't see certain parts coming. (I'm not going to post any spoilers).
I was also excited to get additional details about Lucca and Vivienne's story and the plot from Dark Prince. Both stories are perfectly blended.

This book was a great follow up to dark prince. It starts with events before dark prince then picks up where it left off. Rora and Sax are such an intense couple. The rollercoaster ride they have to go through to just be together is intense. Lucca and Vivienne make an appearance. I really don’t like the high priestess. Calvin, Auroras betrothed is an asshat to the extreme. I’m so glad he gets what’s coming to him. King Raphael, I still want more of. He wasn’t showcased nearly enough. Ryker and Declan are interesting enough. But the ending leading into Miranda and Rikkon...I can’t wait for more.

It has taken a couple days for me to write this review. Not because I needed to work on something nice to say, but because I loved every part, but don't want to spoil any of the story. Aurora and Saxon's story is .. gah, everything! The sex was HOT! The story was amazing. The chemistry was off the charts. There is just so much to love even if you want to throw the book or punch some characters. Michelle did such an amazing job writing/telling this story! The only bad thing was that it's over...For now.

This book is FANTASTIC!! Absolutely loved Saxon and Aurora’s story. A ton of family conflict for Aurora and magical elements interfering with Sax and Rora’s relationship. They quite literally go to hell and back for each other and there is a perfect setup for a continuation of their story. The timeline for this story starts before the beginning of Dark Prince, so you also get some good backstory on Lucca’s awakening too, which is a huge bonus. Love these Blueblood vampires!
