As you may know, my beloved stepdad- Budiono Kristianto, unexpectedly and tragically passed away shortly after midnight on Wednesday, November 2nd. My Papa Budi, which is what I called him, was the most genuine, selfless, joyful, and kind-hearted man I had ever known and loved. He was the type to generously offer his help with whatever was needed without ever giving it a second thought and would never desire anything in return. He was always giving of his time and resources and was extremely hardworking. And those who knew him would surely share the same sentiment. My family and I have received an outpouring of loving and supportive messages of condolences as well as special memories of my Papa, which were a testament to his genuinely kind soul. We have read through each of them and appreciate every one. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for all the thoughtful care we have received and continue to receive.
Papa Budi was a family man. He served and loved his family fiercely and unconditionally. He married my mom a little over 18 years ago and proudly (and bravely) stepped into the role of being a father figure to my younger brother, Edward, and myself. Being a new husband and suddenly a father of two was a role he did not take lightly- he dedicated his life to being the best and that he was. On top of that, he was also a dedicated and loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and soon-to-be grandfather.
My Papa was also a man of the Lord. He mightily loved God with all of his heart, and his gentle and compassionate spirit was an inspiration to many. He served his church community faithfully and was an exemplary model of someone who embraced the greatest commandments of loving God and loving all people.
There is so much more that can be said about this remarkable man. And please forgive me as I struggle through this GoFundMe summary, as I have never imagined that I would ever have to write one for my Papa. With that said, the funds raised through this page will go towards paying for the exorbitant hospital bills accumulated (e.g., the ambulance, emergency room, and ICU) as well as his funeral and memorial costs. We hope this will help offset the financial burden off my mother, who is already facing a new and heartbreaking reality of life without her best friend, the love of her life.

We greatly appreciate all of the love and generous support. I know that my Papa would be so happy to know that our family is still being well taken care of even with him gone now.
