A Mesabi Trail Rest Stop for Ed

With his health in decline, we're asking friends, former students, racing rivals and biking buddies of Ed Beckers--Hibbing's Renaissance Man--to join us in honoring him in a lasting way.
Along with the Regional Rail Authority, we're installing an honorary bench--a little rest stop--within the Hibbing stretch of the Mesabi Trail. These have been installed before as memorials and we think dad will approve.
Ed was one of the folks involved in the trail's planning and promotion, especially in its early days; we think this is a lasting way to honor his legacy.
We're asking for small individual donations; this is simply a way for the people who know and love Ed to contribute and say you care. Another great option is to add his name to a donation to your local Salvation Army or food bank.
If you can donate, please also share a memory or thought for Ed in the comments. The bench will be installed when weather allows, with a target of Spring of 2021.
