A butterfly release and conservation organizations gathering!
Gardens Buffalo Niagara hosts a gathering of conservation organizations and a butterfly release at the Elmwood Village’s Farmers Market on Bidwell Parkway at Elmwood Avenue every year at the start of Garden Walk season. The event will be held on July 13, 2024 and is free and open to everyone.
Gardens Buffalo Niagara brings together conservation organizations from throughout the region. It’s known that gardening benefits humans. Research informs gardening also supports environmental health, sustainability, and natural harmony in the face of climate change.
The event includes a butterfly release by Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farm. Butterfly releases are always joyful and affirming – bring the kids and whomever needs their spirits lifted!
Erie County’s Environmental Spokesgnome, Frederick Lawn Gnomested, attends to share information about healthy pesticide-free lawns. There will be opportunities to take photos with Freddie.

Black Rock Riverside Alliance Citizen Coalition for Wildlife and Environment
Environmental Management Council’s Healthy Lawn Campaign for pesticide-free lawns.
Erie County Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will also have some additional focus on reducing lawns and replacing with pollinator gardens.
