Foster the Family DC Support Groups
Join us for a night of support, encouragement, and information for foster, kinship, and adoptive moms. We have support groups that meet in three different counties in the DMV area. See details and schedule below.
We are also pleased to share that as of January 2024, the following agencies allow support group attendance to count towards training and recertification hours. Participation certificates will be provided following the group meeting.

Mother’s Day Registration
We're so excited to celebrate Foster, Adoptive, and Kinship Moms from the DMV area. Because we have limited spots and GIFTS for everyone that attends, we ask that you register for this FREE event.
This year, we are offering three FREE Mother’s Day events for you to choose from!

What to expect?
We will watch a 10-15 minute video with a word of encouragement and education and then break into discussion groups of about 8-10 people. The goal is for you to leave feeling equipped, connected, and supported as you love and care for the children in your home.

Childcare Information
We offer childcare during our support groups led by a team trauma-trained childcare workers who will provide fun and engaging activities for your children during your time at support group.
*Registration closes three days before each support group to ensure we have enough volunteers to care for your children.
