About this event

The summit will provide training opportunities, information, and resources to New York’s schools and districts on topics related to emergency response planning and creating safe and supportive learning environments, for the whole school community. The Summit will begin with a welcome from NYSED and a Keynote presentation, followed by breakout sessions with opportunities to "ask the experts" and engage with your colleagues from other New York schools.

The conference will highlight many New York-based resources and technical assistance centers to connect participants with high-quality resources that are available to support school personnel in fostering safe schools.

Dates: Wednesday, May 31 – Thursday, June 1, 2023 (attendance both days is required)

Time: Check-in from 8:30 am - 9:00 am, Conference 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Location: Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Albany NY

Cost: The conference is FREE to attend. However, participants are responsible for their own travel expenses and meals.

Intended Participants: School and district personnel involved in developing & implementing safety plans, including: superintendents, principals and school leaders of K-12 schools, district chief emergency officers, members of the district-wide school safety team or building-level emergency response team. Capacity is limited, priority for attendance will be given to school staff, a waiting list will be available when we reach capacity.
