Need to get some writing done? Join the University Writing Center (UWC) for a full-day Graduate Writing Retreat! To RSVP, click on the "Register" button, then enter your name and email address.
This retreat is free and open to all UT graduate students. Feel free to join us even if you can only attend part of the retreat. Consultants will be available throughout the day to meet with you for optional one-on-one support and help you find writing resources. Click here for more details!

Frequently asked questions
Writing retreats are held on the ground floor of the PCL in the University Writing Center and Learning Lab 1. When you arrive, check in at either location and then choose a table in whichever space you prefer. You're welcome to move around throughout the day! Note: consultations are held in the UWC.
Writing retreats are intended to be relatively unstructured, distraction-free time for getting work done among peers. We will have a variety of writing resources and goal-setting handouts available to help you manage your time.
Yes! We will have several graduate consultants on call to hold short, 15-minute writing consultations throughout the day, both online and in-person. Consultations will be held in the reduced-distraction rooms in the UWC, and sign-ups will be available day of.
There will be coffee, tea, and a variety of packaged snacks available in the UWC. We sometimes offer fresh treats like bagels or tacos (quantity limited, first-come first-served). The UWC break room has a refrigerator and microwave that you may use should you prefer to bring your own food.
