Lynn "Len" C. Hale of Chattanooga, TN was the owner of Walter Craig's Sportsman's Headquarters for many years. From his early days he was a winning athlete in track and golf; a scratch golfer, he enjoyed playing and winning tournaments and even considered going pro at one time. He believed in setting high standards and then exceeding them, as he did many times. Lynn was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. One of his biggest thrills was getting to plan and hunt in an African Safari. But few things thrilled him more than sales and the art of helping people find just what they were seeking, including designing prototypes of fishing and hunting equipment, special orders, and getting to know his customers to find exactly what they needed. He believed in serving as a leader and passing on leadership to the next generation. He was often in leadership roles with professional business groups and volunteer groups such as the Boy Scouts. He won several awards for his excellence in business over his more than 65 years in sales.
He loved and was dedicated to his family and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sherrie Hale; his son L.C. "Bo" Hale, III and wife Allison; his daughter Deeanna "Dee" Hale-Holland and husband Tony; and "Baby Girl" daughter Tiffanie Carroll and husband Sean; and also his grandchildren whom he loved very much, Caitlyn and Spencer Hale.
The family will plan a celebration of life later in the new year. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
