COVID-19 Emergency Funding

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Securities Act (CARES Act), the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) are federal acts that provided financial support to individuals and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These federal programs included the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) which allocated money to colleges and universities including CBC, and a portion of that allocation was for students who are experiencing financial hardships due to the coronavirus pandemic.

At this time, all federal Emergency Relief Funds have been allocated.

Unfortunately, all federal funds have been allocated at this time. In the event additional funds become available, CBC will send out further communication.

The IRS has advised that emergency financial aid grants under the CARES Act are not taxable and should not be included in gross income.

Additionally, you cannot claim any deduction or credit for expenses paid with the grant.
