Taiwan academics call for central bank reform

Taiwan’s top government-funded research institute has called on the government to reform the central bank by learning from the US Federal Reserve and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

In a white paper published on August 8, Academica Sinica proposes a raft of measures aimed at improving the Central Bank of the Republic of China’s (CBRC’s) monetary and financial system, as well as boosting the self-ruled island’s capital market.
