Lebanon’s judicial authorities have banned the country’s central bank governor from travelling abroad, after two European countries issued arrest warrants for him.

German prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for governor Riad Salameh this week, joining their French counterparts, Reuters reported. Germany also issued warrants for four other suspects in the case.

Magistrates in Lebanon and five European countries are investigating allegations Salameh enriched himself by embezzling up to $500
