Swanson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Marlins.
Swanson extended his hitting streak to three games, which has helped push his season average up to .254. That's in line with the .244 mark he posted last year, though he batted .277 in his last season in Atlanta back in 2022, so there is room for growth. The shortstop also only has two home runs so far, but he's posted 20 or more long balls in three straight seasons and should find his power stroke soon.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Swipes bag in win
Swanson went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Playing against the team that drafted him first overall back in 2015, Swanson notched his first multi-hit performance in 12 days. The shortstop hasn't really gotten going yet, as he's batting just .235 with two home runs and two stolen bases across 18 games. However, Swanson is at no real risk of losing playing time, and he has the talent to heat up in a hurry.

Swanson went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 9-7 win over the Dodgers.
Swanson is off to a hot start, as he now has two home runs and a robust 1.100 OPS across seven games. The shortstop got off to a bit of a slow start in his first campaign with the Cubs last year, and while he picked things up a bit, the .744 OPS he finished with was his lowest mark since 2018. It looks like Swanson could be primed for bigger numbers in his second season in Chicago.

Swanson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Rangers.
Swanson's second-inning blast, his first of the year, ended up being Chicago's only offense in an 11-2 blowout loss. The shortstop has hit 20 or more long balls in each of the last three seasons, and he should be able to reach that plateau again in 2024 assuming he stays healthy. Swanson remains a strong fantasy asset in the middle infield.

Swanson, who went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in a Cactus League game against the Mariners on Friday, is now batting .357 this spring.
Swanson appears to be in midseason form with his bat, as he's gone 5-for-14 so far with four walks and only four strikeouts. The shortstop batted just .244 in his first season with the Cubs in 2023, though he batted .278 a year earlier with Atlanta, so there is room for improvement in that area. Swanson's other numbers were fairly similar last season, and he reached the 20-homer plateau for the third straight year.

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Closes season on bench
Swanson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
Swanson started the last 64 games after his stint on the injured list with a heel issue in July, but he'll receive Sunday off with the Cubs eliminated from playoff contention. The 29-year-old joined Chicago on a seven-year, $177 million contract last December and is set to finish the season with an underwhelming .244/.328/.416 slash line, 22 homers, nine steals, 80 RBI and 81 runs in 147 contests.

Swanson went 2-for-5 with a home run and three total RBI in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
Swanson singled home a run in the seventh inning, then plated two more on a home run in the ninth, his 22nd of the season. The shortstop had 25 long balls last year and a career-best 27 a year before that, so he'll need a strong final nine games of 2023 to reach either of those figures. Swanson has still been a solid contributor for the Cubs as they fight for a playoff spot.
