Executive Director, Chicago

Chris Broughton serves as the Executive Director of Bottom Line Chicago where he is responsible for leading the growth and impact of Bottom Line’s program in service to over 2,000 first-generation students from every zip code in Chicago.  He serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  Prior to this role, Chris served on the Executive Leadership Team for the Cristo Rey Network as the Senior Director of College Initiatives where he launched its national college completion strategy by leveraging next generation data systems, best practice research, and strategic partnerships with 50 universities.   His work at Cristo Rey also included facilitating national collaborations to increase college success with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.    Before joining Cristo Rey, Chris managed the selection, training, and support of new teachers in the ACE Teaching Fellows Program and began his career as a Middle School teacher in the same program.   Chris received his undergraduate and M.Ed. from the University of Notre Dame and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.  He and his wife Carolyn are the proud parents of two daughters, Maura & Cecilia.
